Looking at it from the standpoint of society, if the hand I'm blowing is from a surgeon who saves lifes I wouldn't blow his hand off. If the man was a street bum who didn't contribute anything to society, I still wouldn't blow his hand off because, in my eyes he is not doing any harm to me or to society. I might recommend he sees a psychiatrist though.

[ QUOTE ]
Absolutely not. And anybody who thinks they would needs to either pull their head out of their ass and get back to reality, or they're really sick. [/ QUOTE ] Dude, I don't think I'm really sick. In fact, if I saw you putting a cat in the microwave, I would like to blow your hand off even if it didn't save the cat. |

Absolutely, I would blow a hand off providing there would be no reporcusions for having done so.
In a discussion with a lawyer friend (whom I rarely had the ability to 'win' an arguement ... he was a skillfull attorney afterall) about the making of the movie "Braveheart", I had said that I was glad to have seen "The Making of Braveheart" prior to the film itself because the scene of the big battle where the horses were impaled by the large stakes would have made me turn off the movie. But knowing how they filmed it I keyed my mind on the technicalities rather than the emotional impact of the scene. Fake or not, having a love of animals and being a horse owner, seeing animals tortured/killed in a movie is troubling to me. My lawyer friend asked "What about all the men harmed, mamed and killed in the battle?" I replied that that does not bother me. At some point in their lives, right or wrong, they have made some decision, some choice that had led them to being in that battle. The horses had no choice. We put them there. Same for the cat -- it did not have a choice. The troubled boy(s) had a choice that led to the destruction of a hand. |

What if you have a heart problem, and that same hand you're blowing belongs to the only surgeon in the world who knows how to fix your hand problem? Would you
a) blow the hand off and not have your heart fixed b) Wait until after he fixes your heart and then blow his hand off? c) blow his hand off and go to another surgeon that is not as good to have a try at your heart? Would your decision be different if the guy was a street bum? Or someone that has been abused all his life and has a wicked pleasure in torturing animals. In other words, would you blow ANY person's hand off or would it depend on the person and how would you decide? [ QUOTE ] Absolutely, I would blow a hand off providing there would be no reporcusions for having done so. |

I would shoot the microwave.
Then I would use the gun to force one of the guys to rape the others ass. |

I'm not a PETA-wing-nut either...
As far as I'm concerned, humans are principally the only animals that can earn justified execution. (Do I need to elaborate on that?) Virtually all species of animals act solely in the interest of economical and pragmatic survival, except humans... It's a derivative of the Golden Rule. Given that there are no repercussions for me personally... Anyone depraved enough to torture and kill irrationally for amusement deserves to have their capacity diminished for myriad reasons. Curiously enough, if there were still no repercussions for me, personally, and I failed to halt the incident before the cat was killed, I would generally have very little compunction about executing the offenders on the spot for the greater good of humanity. BTW, I also believe that "Curiosity is the root of all evil---scads of money just exacerbates the condition." |
