It's not there. But I'm not a US player. I'll ask support about it (not that I'm going to use it, just to see if it should be there).

Any smart money transfer service would, at this time, MAKE SURE IT NEVER HELPED PLACE A SPORTS BET! Funding a poker only site is not illegal right now (because Poker is not covered by the Wire act). When the UIGEA regulations come out, it will be illegal to violate those regulations. That might cause the Moneygrams and epassportes to pull out at that time, we will have to wait and see. [/ QUOTE ] Accepting funds for unlawful poker is a crime right now just like accepting funds for unlawful sports betting. The UIGEA does not make sending funds for unlawful internet gambling illegal (other laws might), so I don't understand your "SPORTS BET" warning. The regs will try to prevent all funding transactions to unlawful internet gambling businesses. |

Permafrost, I wish that you would provide some basis for your negative comments. Oh that's right, you don't have any basis.

[ QUOTE ] Accepting funds for unlawful poker is a crime right now [/ QUOTE ] Define "unlawful poker"? [/ QUOTE ] In this context and paraphrasing the UIGEA, the term means placing or receiving a poker bet by means of the Internet where such bet is unlawful by any Federal or State law in the State in which the bet is initiated or received. That seems a little long to type every time. |

The sports bet warning seems pretty clear to me... sports betting is specifically mentioned in the Wire Act, and has been associated with, I believe (certain I will be corrected if I am wrong), every industry arrest by the US.

[/ QUOTE ] Skallagrim's stance is that currently there is a law making it illegal for a money transmitter to send funds to an online sportsbetting site but it is not illegal to send funds to an online poker site, saying or implying online poker is legal. Then he implies the UIGEA regs could change the legality of a money transmitter sending funds to a poker site, which is confusing and I have a question. If online poker is currently legal and funding online poker is legal, and UIGEA only addresses unlawful online poker, why would UIGEA regs make funding online poker illegal? |
