saw danny's first book at the local bookstore today...

i thought it was decent. alot like his columns. probably will only buy it as an add-on to another book order. it's pretty cheap so it might be good for getting above the free shipping threshold (i find 3 books doesn't make it usually, and i don't usually want 3)

i know people want the really advanced books with EV calculations and hand reading. but i still like the basic advice ones. helps plug leaks.

You talking about his new book "Hold 'Em Wisdom for All Players"? I was told the book is for beginners and very basic.

i don't think it's beginner-ish. depends how you define it, but it has dominated hand and suited connector section. i don't think that's beginner level. the rules/ hand rankings are beginner level .. anyhow, in the absence of any real definitive NL book (maybe soon?), i think it's another good book.

it's like his newspaper column...... the book isn't too big though... but it is reasonably cheap.

my own personal opinion is that too much emphasis is put on advanced teaching (and your reads are so important anyway). i like intermediate material best.

You're welcome for the book. Send me a PM when you write your review of Daniel's current book.
