To those saying "never bet the flop here because no worse hands call you," what worse hands are going to call on the turn or river? If no worse hands are going to call now, you really are just giving free cards to beat you, yes?
Besides, with $250 in the pot already, it's still +EV to get it in with a minimum of 11 outs, yes? Not saying that I think the flop bet is necessarily the best play, but the reasoning that no worse hands call a flop bet is not enough to make betting the flop bad. |

sick hand.
the correct plays depend entirely on what weaknesses the villain has. if he's inclined to bluff you or make moves, then you should bet/call the flop. benefits being that you get it in either as a huge favorite or a slight dog, with 2 cards to come. he's also a lot more inclined to make a move there, when the board has much potential danger for hands you might have. as played, i think the river is really close EV wise, and comes down to timing tells or whatever else you can get out of him. i think a fold makes sense, but if he's one to bluff you might have to call him on it. |

I thought flop check was standard. Turn, I call cos he could be pulling some weird bluff or protecting his QQ no diamond or w/e. River, I dunno. I prob call but it could be a fold.
[ QUOTE ] seems like the type to me that tries to win more than his fair share of pots and make weird bluffs [/ QUOTE ] = call imo. |

Villain's range is exactly 4 hands after preflop 3bet and call of a 4bet and further action - JJ,KK,AK and QdQ (least likely).
I think you should have folded on the turn with that ugly K. But, if you called turn, you can't fold river. |

[/ QUOTE ] because AK no diamond suddenly ballooned as part of his range after we called the turn and by all rights should have frozen him on the river? I can and will |
