I was in the army and a lot of it comes down to how comfortable you are with a firearm. If you have the experience a Glock is a great choice. Without a safety you need to have good habits or practice a lot to keep from shooting yourself in the foot. The kimber custom carry 45s are a great everday carry gun, but you are looking at 1k easy and I am not sure how long it takes to get one after you order it. FWIW I bought a used smith and wesson 5904 model used from a police officer. If you find one that has had some trigger work done it is perfect for carry. The only drawback is that it's a 9mm weapon. On the upside you can get the sweet 30 rd stick mags that come out of the magazine well 8 inches.

Kel-Tec .32 - you can put one next to a deck of cards in a coat pocket. If you want to CC all the time for self-protection, then you won't be hesistating about bringing this with you because it's too big/burdensome.

Btw I was trying my best not to hijack with anti-gun [censored] but he totally started it. Serious Q: I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, which is like 220k people. It's pretty safe. There are some gangs and violent crime (most per capita in Canada I think, but per capita is misleading). Do you pro-gun people feel unsafe where you are? I live in a nicer area and have honestly never felt in real danger, never feeling like I wish I had a gun. Is it just a hobby, or fascination, or do you really feel like you need the defense?

I'd much rather go for an USP than a glock, very good weapons on all accounts.

Heckler&Koch USP link

Guns are pretty cool actually. For sports, at the range. I always learned that "self defense situation" + gun == "getting yourself shot". (I've been thinking of picking up sports shooting for a while now. It's a bit of trouble here, as you need lessons and a license etc. which is probably good. I think you even need to use a .22 for a year before you can buy any larger caliber. With strict rules and strictly for sports guns are nice. You can also get any automatic assault rifle etc, as long as you get it converted so it can only operate under single shot...)

Yes, FBI uses 10mm.
