maybe you should get a better book and foloow the advice to the T buy all of slankys books get ken warrens books get lee jones books and just follow the advice even if your doing it just to test their theories, thats what im going to do. im going to play for 1 year at the $1 $2 limit if i play for 2 montsh and find out im winniong ill move up to 3/6 then to 5/10 all the way up to 100/200 at the end of the year, if i lose the 1/2 after 6 months ill just play for play money on the internet. and also try playiong in a real card room instead of online tah way you will know your not playing agints a robot

best post ever

"I ran well at nl50 so I quit my job, then I hit a downswing OH NO"

seriously keep at least 10-15k in a liquid saving's account incase of emergencies and bad runs. For living expenses and rent.

i play with play money and i see no differce in the skill level of 5/10, 100/200 no limit or 10/120,100/200 limit to me they all play the same, how ever it seems the tourney players are noticibly better, this is a $300 buy in

I wasn't talking about bankroll, keep 10k in a seperate saving's account totally unrelated to your personal savings account and poker accounts just for rent/living expenses in worst case scenarios.

Then again I'm a nit when it comes to personal financial ruin

I quit my job this week because I was doing very well at 50nl. I wasnt planning on grinding that out for a living but was goign to find a less stressful position with hours better suited to my poker playing. Then I go on the wrost down swing ever, I cant play a hand without losing or getting stacked. Suck outs at every turn. Lost so much I moved down to 25nl and then to 10nl and still losing. Any words of advice on how to cope with this [censored] before I throw my computer and ever poker book I own out the damn window? Thanks in advance

[/ QUOTE ]

So have you explained to your kids why there won't be a Christmas this year?
