Was the only reason Colston was snubbed was the injury? Before the injury he should have been a lock.

BWebb,

Yards per carry is a useful statistic, but yards per carry does not equal total rushing value. There are other factors to consider.

Percent of team's offense is useless when comparing players.

Fumbles, success rate, success rate in short yardage, opponent adjustments.

Edit:

Fumbles: Gore 6, Westbrook 1
Success Rate: Gore 48%, Westbrook 48%
Power Runs*: Gore 45% Westbrook 57%

*Since Outsiders lists power runs by team and not by player, these statistics are for their teams.

I think that whatever Kicker gets sent to the Pro Bowl should get to bring along his holder and long snapper.

The Official Snub of this years pro bowl!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't this one is close to be honest.

[/ QUOTE ]

Its hard to say that he was for sure the biggest DT snub in the AFC. I do think it is kind of weak that they would vote a 3-4 DE in at DT though. And if you are going to do that, how do you vote Seymour in over Ty Warren? Hes having a sick year.

That said, if I were voting, it probably would have gone to Henderson and Seymour would def. not make it.

Also, like I said in that week 13 thread, I think Pat Williams should definitely be in. I would go as far as to say he has been the best run defending DT (at least in the 4-3) for the past two years.

Gore is also the most valuable rusher in the NFL per your link (even better than LT)

[/ QUOTE ]

Uh, what? Where does it say that?

[/ QUOTE ]

YPC is highest in the league, what other measurement could you use?

Also, as for % of total offenses yards:

[/ QUOTE ]

As for % of total offense, it's a useless stat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why? What statistic do you want to use? The only one you showed was that Westbrook is a more effective receiver, which I could say is useless because that is a result of offensive scheme. The one negative about Gore is the fumbles. What else has Westbrook done better than Gore?

Well I'm glad you're using YPC instead of total yards, but there are even better statistics out there. And Gore is 4th in them.

I'm just using it to show how effective Gore has been despite the lesser talent around him and how valuable he has been to his team. At zero skill position are the 49ers better than the Eagles, yet Gore has more total yards than Westbrook while being the only real offensive threat.

Like I said a few times, Barber should be left off for Westbrook. Saying Gore is the first choice off is a mistake.

What is the definition of Power Runs? This statistic is no doubt hurt by the fact M. Robinson was used as a short yardage back for a short stint during the year.
