online poker wasnt an issue till the poker boom. basing this completely on republicans or democrats is biased.

[/ QUOTE ]I only saw Democrats speaking against this legislation on the floor. Not a SINGLE Republican.

A ban has passed the Republican-controlled House year after year. It is only once they had the Senate that it made it through there as well.

So why was it passing the House year after year if, as you imply, it was only the recent boom that triggered this?

[/ QUOTE ]

it was tacked onto a port security bill. what senator in their mind would vote against that?

look im not trying to make an arguement. all im saying is please dont lump actual republicans in with the radical ones.

LOL @ the "this isn't a democracy!" crowd.

This IS a democracy, that's the problem, the "bible thumping" crowd as you put it is millions upon millions strong and they vote.

That's democracy.

Obviously I want online poker legal and easy to access, but if hte majority of americans decide otherwise that's not a totalitarian state, that's democracy.

As shocking as it may seem, 2+2 is NOT "mainstream" America.

[/ QUOTE ]

i don't think anyone was doubting you live in a democracy.

they were doubting that you live in a free country.

Here's the thing, though: the actions of these 2p2ers are not affecting this mainstream you speak of in any which way.

Ever heard of "Tyranny of the Majority?"

[/ QUOTE ]

Didn't Australia make online poker illegal a year ago? Pretty sure its not even enforced and most don't even know about it.

"[censored] this [censored] totalitarian state we are now living in. [censored] all the right-wing [censored] do-gooder-bible-thumpin-crooked [censored].

[censored] the Bush administration, [censored] the monkey running this country, the uneducated, cocaine-snortin', drunk, fortunate-son moron, on the take from the defense and oil companies, who initiates a worthless meaningless war to promote his agenda and pay off his scumbag oil and defense firm bed-buddies who elected him, who lets the one who caused the worst tragedy in American history survive and embarass the country so he can promote his [censored]' right-wing agenda.

Keep paying $3 per gallon, you right-wing-holier-than-thou [censored]. Take your smelly [censored] sneakers off when you get on a [censored] airplane, and don't you dare bring your [censored]' pussy starbucks latte on the flight, either. Keep running up the national debt for your [censored] kids to pay off someday. Keep believing that global warming is a figment of some liberal college professor's imagination as the ice caps deteriorate to nothing.

[censored] off. Piss on not only the monkeys in Washington, but the scared-of-your-own-shadow conservative [censored] who voted them in.

Yeah, keep playin your [censored] rigged state lotteries and your [censored] horse tracks and all the other things that are easy for the [censored] states to tax.

Let me tell ya what, you ain't in no democracy any more. Wear my [censored]' seatbelt, [censored] you, I ain't wearin it. Don't use my cell phone in the car - [censored] you, i aint following that either. All these [censored] laws that have nothing to do with public safety, made at the whim of a bunch of right-wing fearmongers. [censored] off.

I'm [censored] pissed. "

I can't believe people would decide to live in a country that controls everything you do and think

[/ QUOTE ]

Decide to be born? Any countries take Americans as freely as we take anyone? I'm ready to go.
