[ QUOTE ]
i have to believe godfather is being sarcastic. If not this is DEFINATELY the most ignorant post I have ever read.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well I don't believe he is being sarcastic.
He seems to be very jealous of 18-22 year olds:

Another post of Gotfatherson:

you have a degree (see the other post were the kid wants to drop out to go pro), you have the money, your winning. Your decision. You are at an age were it sounds like you don't have a family to tie you down which is huge (like me with a wife and 3 kids and no money). So if you are truly being that successfull, and it is something that is a dream, I say go for it. Unfortunately, this site seems to be full of 18 to 22 year old kids that are used to living with mom and dad and not paying the bills. they have no concept of work ethic and sit around playing poker non-stop. If they are successfull, excellent, more power to them. But you need to have something to fall back on if the worse happens....that is not you.... The worse that happens is you go broke and go back to work as a Doc. Could be a lot worse. Good luck.

Jeez this has really degenerated into a flame war here.

Anyways I can't find the old post in psychology forum but it has a similar title to this post. If I remember correctly the guy said he had like 40k hands on each database. The one where he was stoned had a slightly higher winrate (but not significantly so). I think he also had a lower multi table ratio in that db as well. I think the thread slightly degenerated in to a flame war like this one.

I personally don't think smoking marijuana will "help" your game but I also don't think it really hurts it either. I smoke about 1/8 a week (mostly to help me sleep) but for some recreational use as well. I do notice that when I smoke and play I have to tone down the amount of tables I play. But on the fewer tables my reads are generally much sharper and I will consider things about my opponents that I had not considered before (sometimes right sometimes wrong). I have a quasi legitimate prescription for marijuana in california, that entitles to me to carry around a retarded amount of weed with me plus buy weed from Dispensaries in CA and grow if I choose. The nice thing about dispensaries is that they usually have a large selection of strains (sometimes up to 20!!!). I personally have not found a strain that lends itself to poker, I think if it was anything it would have to be a sativa, since indicas tend to be better for sleep and more of a body high/couch lock. So you would be looking for something like trainwreck, sour diesel, or snow cap. I have had some ok sour diesel, but sometimes sativas can induce panic in people. I have never heard of a strain called "The chronic" a quick strain search reveals nothing either. I was always under the impression that this was an adjective used to describe really good buds. Most of the stuff you get on the street is such crap, not cured right, moldy, covered in mites (yes you have smoked a ton of mites in your life). The stuff you get at clubs is so much more of a clean high that the extra price is worth it.

I will update if I find anything but like I said I mostly buy indicas for sleep.

This is an interesting post. To win in poker you need the right mindsite, you must be calm. People that say weed makes you a bad player are wrong, many things make you a bad player and those same things can also make you a better player. Poker is about situations and circumstances.

For example overeat and you may be tired and have to lay down and take a nap. When your starving you will feel sick and shaky.

Don't drink alchohol and be a tight ass and everyone knows you are a rock and gives you no action. Drink to much and you donk off all your chips.

Poker is about being calm and collected and doing what makes you feel comfortable and able to play at your best.

Weed is not a narcotic and is not illegal in califonia with a doctors recommendation. You can buy marijuana legally in California from patient centers and can deduct it on your federal taxes as a medical expense.

Not only losers smoke weed many ceo's and top professionals from all walks of life enjoy marijuana and enjoy the fact marijuana has no negative side effects if it eaten (it is only carcinogenic when smoked).

To The original poster. You don't want a specific strain to smoke it all has THC, you want something that is clean and will not have any residual chemicals that will cause headaches.

You should grow your own and rinse out fertilizes for 5-7 days before harvest with clearex available at gardening centers. You will get a clean high with no allergic reactions. If you are a medical user go to your local patient center and request chemical free pot the type for people with allergies and they should be able to help. It doesn't matter if it is organic or hydro it must be rinsed prior to harvest. It should be a strain with a high THC content very crystally. Stay away from hash before a session although it clean it may be too potent and may burn you out, save it for after.
