[ QUOTE ] Does anyone having this problem not have a dual-core CPU? If so, what have you got? [/ QUOTE ] I have a single core, 3 GHz intel, 2 GB RAM [/ QUOTE ] Hmm, there goes that theory then - Although maybe not, is your Intel one that has Hyper-Threading (dual-core emulation) enabled? A HT-enabled P4 should not suffer timer drift, but it may be something else dual CPU related causing the problem. dave. |

The cure is to set "Processor Affinity" to a certain CPU core, which can be done in "Task Manager", similar method to "Set Process Priority" - This command is only available on multi-CPU systems tho, so I can't describe exactly what/where since I only have a single CPU lol . [/ QUOTE ] Do I do this just for partygaming? Or for PT also? What about my other apps I run (GT+, etc)? |

Well, I changed Party's affinity to only use CPU0 and that didnt help at all...so I guess we can put that to bed

hmm, I've been having the same thing happen, but on IE also and especially with 2P2 (whereas other sites are running ok).
what the hell's going on? I'm a little concerned that I may have contracted a virus of some sort. Also, I'm having this problem sometimes when party is off. I just recently checked my task manager and party isn't running. |

Is there any way you can force party not to use more then 40% of your cpu? With the help of a program maybe.

You never want to limit a program to x% of your CPU. What if your CPU is 60% idle; you'd want the process to use as much as it needs to complete its task faster. 2. The more important problem; if you limit Party's CPU usage the Party client will start lagging miserably. I doubt you want to be stuck with money on the table and not be able to do anything but time out... |
