[ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure I'd own a professional sports team. [/ QUOTE ] Surprised this is the only comment about sports teams. I'd avoid the NFL, NBA, and NHL (stupid salary cap). So I'd get an MLB team and probably some random European soccer team. Then I'd buy so many players, people would start calling Steinbrenner and Abramovich cheap. |

I think the obvious answer is to ride it all on one hand of Party BJ.

I would buy an NHL team and buy Nike also.
Some nice houses, put Jay Leno's car collection to shame. Play Michael Jordan for $1 Mil a hole in golf. Play 100/200 NL like it was play money. Lots of fun. |

I'd take my mother out to dinner.
If she wanted French food, we'd go to Paris. If she was in the mood for Chinese... [ QUOTE ] So I'd get an MLB team ...Then I'd buy so many players, people would start calling Steinbrenner...cheap. [/ QUOTE ] Steinbrenner spends $200M+ per year on players. You'd spend $300M? After three years, one of your ten B will be gone. You'll see that you're on the path to ruin, and you'll bail. You'll have the greatest fire sale in sports history. IOW, you'll be Wayne Huizenger. |

For personal enjoyment purposes, I think the amount of money starts becoming irrelevent beyond 1 billion dollars (or possibly a lot less).
From what I hear, the high stakes gambling in Macau puts Vegas to shame. I would go there and try to bust corrupt dictators playing with thier country's GDP. |

I'd buy the biggest TV you've ever seen. and it would defintely be one of those flat screen jobs, I'm not lugging a [censored] projection upstairs to my 3rd floor apt.

naturally, i'd buy a big-ass house where i could live in luxury.
then, i'd buy an old warehouse/factory type building, convert most of it into a living space for artists (musicians, painters, filmmakers, etc) who could live there for free, provided they're actually creating (kind of like the Chelsea Hotel). Outfit the place with a recording studio, some editing bays, and a theatre that would alternate between showing stuff other theatres around don't show and stuff made by the people who live there. give a sizeable amount to my family so they never have to worry about $$ ever again. pay off the debt load of everyone i consider to be even a casual friend. fund film projects i find to be worthwhile and not care if they ever make any $$. buy my poker-playing friends into the ME every year. give my close friends important jobs like "Chief Executive in Charge of Alcohol Consumption and Distribution" so they won't have to go to their real jobs. travel a lot. |
