What sites do you feel are best for a SSNL player to start playing on (ie most fishy), and do you use poker software such as sixth sense, and poker Ace HUD?

Thanks for doing this by the way. I have noticed a lot more check-raising at 50NL. Is this common at 100NL? Is this expected at higher limits. I realize this could just be variance. In addition, I have found that pot control becomes far more important at higher limits. Do you agree? What was the biggest change in ur game when u jumped to 100NL? (for example c-bet less, bluff less/more ect.)

kitaristi0-

this would be a great time to post the rest of that text file!

kitaristi0-

if you PM it to me, i promise to save it. then, i'll have my own text file .

actually, my problem is that i have too much crap stored as "useful" information. i'm busy sorting/organizing my favorites list right now. it has close to 600 entries .

[/ QUOTE ]

Meh, my .txt file only has a couple more things in it that aren't too great anyway. No point sending it. But just for you, since you are sporting such an awesome avatar and all (wow that's some sweet assonance sort of) here are a few more gems I found (these are mostly my observations from CardRunners videos):

[ QUOTE ]
Raised preflop with JJ to $7. He got reraised by one of the blinds to $20. He called. The flop came down 8xx with no obvious draws on it. The opponent bet out strong, and GP just went all-in. At the lower stakes games he’s not going to overthink these situations. If he has me beat, then that’s tough, but he’s really only worried about QQ+, and it’s much more likely that the opponent has two overcards, top pair or a weaker overpair.

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
Say you raise preflop and get called by an out of position opponent. When the flop comes down and the opponent leads into you with a bet they very often don’t have a big hand. Consider raising with anything, and be willing to fire off a second barrel.

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
Raised preflop with AQo. Got called by two people. The flop came 432r. He made a $20 bet into a $21 pot. This deters people from calling with anything but a pair, and thus helps clarify the situation. This makes the rest of the hand much easier to play. Made a similar pot sized bet with 88 on a 777 flop.

What has been your biggest mistake (poker or life related) and what, if anything, did you learn from it?

kit,
IMO, a bigger BR (30 buys) isn't pansy in the least. You say that your worst downswing has only been 7 buyins- you are very fortunate. I had a 30 buyin roll for 200nl, and on a -10 buyin downswing right now. Bankroll grows faster than skill (aj). Also, you see guys move up perhaps a bit too quickly and get owned. It works sometimes (moving up fast), ie. Grim/cts, but you have to be very lucky and learn at a faster pace than others.

I agree that dropping down in limits is probably the way to go when hitting a rough patch. anyways, just dropping in to give my short opinion, carry on.

You would legalize which of the following:

1) Gay marriage
2) Marijuana
3) Hard drugs
4) Prostitution
5) Aggressive displays of public beastiality

What is your political persuasion?

If you had to live in one country for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Who is your favorite SSNL poster and why?

You made the jump from 25NL to 100NL. Can You ellaborate on this a little? I have the roll for 100NL built at 25NL but felt it was important to first play 50NL to better my game. However, many people suggest that 50Nl is more difficult than 100NL. I have found 50NL to be more aggressive but just as fishy. Any thoughts on this?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was grinding away at NL10 and NL25 with a bankroll of about $400. I withdrew $150 or so to pay for a years subscription to CardRunners. Left with $250 I entered a $22 HU MTT which I won for about $800. Then I got into casinowhoring and made a couple hundred really quick. I withdrew all my money from Stars. I left $600 for casinowhoring in my Neteller account and put $600 in Full Tilt. Then I just decided to play NL100. I basically said screw this, I'm going for it (well it wasn't quite that dramatic, but you get the idea). At first I ran well, then I ran bad and was down to about $250. Then I ran well again and never looked back. I think if you have the bankroll for NL100 then just give it a shot. Obviously if you feel like you're not ready for it then don't, but there's no need to get stuck at NL25 and NL50 forever.

I think anyone saying 50NL is harder than 100NL doesn't have reliable data over a meaningful sample and probably just ran well at NL100 and badly at 50NL.

If it weren't for Monster I would say Party. Try Stars or Full Tilt.

Software I use: PT, PAHUD, Sixth Sense (greatest thing since sliced bread), Notepad and iTunes. When I played on Party I used a bunch of different AHK scripts (check the software forum for info).
