River ($95ish) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Board 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Villain leads for $80 and has about $150ish behind, Hero takes his time counting out chips for a call and announces "Raise" as he bring them forward. Hero looks at villain's stack and says all in, Villain insta-calls.

What did villain have?

Nut flush, either naked As or Axs.

I think you could have gotten a turn bet out of him.

Smaller boat is my guess. Quads also possible.

If it were quads then frank wouldn't have forgotten which card paired.

whatever he has here, you certainly could have gotten a bet out of him on the turn and made the pot bigger than effective stacks on the river......but that is a little results oriented after seeing the river action

Perhaps you could explain the reasoning behind the turn check? would he simply not draw to the bare ace on a paired board?

it sure doesn't look like you have a boat in this spot because you didn't raise the draw heavy flop. the flop call was deceptive enough to make him seriously misread your hand on the turn and call a bet drawing thin at best.
