Yeah, I busted Gus Hansen so he must be overhyped. LOL.

Overhyped doesn't remotely mean he's a bad player. Try again.

Hey UCLA, I still can't believe that call down you made against Hansen with J4 top pair, no kicker. Wow, I just can't see myself calling that turn after he makes the huge bluff there. I could see maybe check-raising him.

What made you so confident that he was bluffing there? I agree that in hindsight it was a terrible play by him to bluff those calling stations. But didn't the fact that he was betting against them make you suspect that he actually had a hand (since you wouldn't expect a thinking player to bluff against calling stations)? Granted his bet did look suspicious considering he checked behind on a ragged J-high flop but then bet big when everyone checked to him on a seemingly unimportant turned 6.

And didn't you have any fear that the Ace hit Hansen on the river? You said in your post that you were relatively certain that you still had the best hand. I'm assuming you didn't get a physical read on a pro like him, so what made you so sure?

Anyways, that was a very interesting hand to read since those passive call downs with mediocre hands against aggressive players always lead to difficult decisions. Good luck with the rest of the main event!

Gus would have bet the flop with a J and would have raised preflop with any ace, IMHO. If he bet the flop I would have had a more difficult decision, but the turn just really felt like a stab after it checked around TWICE. The river felt like a desperate attempt to grab the pot. It was a pretty easy call.

I think anybody with around 20k is fine. I think Matusow ended Day 1 with a pretty small chip stack and he really turned it up on "moving day" as they call it (right after the money I believe).

If Ivey can win a flip early today and get around 35k he'll obviously be dangerous.

If he can simply do that, it is brilliant.

Yeah. If he can keep it up, he'll get 2nd place.

Thanks for that list BenTurpin much appreciated.

Good to see Mark Vos doing well, from an Aussie's POV (mine) I'd like to see him go deep in this just to show that the bracelet he got a couple of weeks back wasn't a fluke.

And yes there is some love for Hachem, would also be good to see him show whether last year was a fluke or if he really has it. I believe the latter but most think he has a lot to prove.

Danny Negreanu is in very good shape and I'd just love to see him at final table.

Thanks again and keep the updates comming.
