The chief editor for the 911 debunking campaign is Ben Chertoff. Ben Chertoff is cousins with Michael Chertoff, the new Secretery of Homeland Security, an agency which owes its very existence to the establishment version of the 9/11 attack. Sure, he has no reason to lie at all... Like I said, don't believe what others tell you about the evidence. Look at it yourself. |

I pity you and your need to believe such things to feel intelligent and special. [/ QUOTE ] Why not provide some actual rebuttal instead of spouting childish insults? I don't buy the conspiracy theory myself, but there's certainly enough hard to explain issues to warrant discussion and further investigation. There are a ton of reputable scholars that question the veracity of the official story. http://www.scholarsfor911truth.org/WhoAreWe.html |

[ QUOTE ]
Like I said, don't believe what others tell you about the evidence. Look at it yourself. [/ QUOTE ] You don't have to look at the evidence, you just have to look at the total stupidity of the assertions. Theory 1: Someone hijacked an airliner with passengers, made it and the passengers disappear, and flew a military aircraft disguised to look like that airliner into the WTC. Theory 2: Someone hijacked an airliner with passengers, made it and the passengers disappear, and either flew a smaller plane or a drone or a rocket into the Pentagon. Theory 3: Government operatives wired WTC1, WTC2, and WTC7 for controlled implosion, and not one of the thousands of people who worked in those building ever noticed anything. Theory X: etc., etc., etc. How about some facts: there are hundreds of inconsistancies in the the reports and eyewitness accounts of what happened. More facts: there are always inconsistancies in eyewitness accounts of anything, from a simple car accident on up. In this case, there are thousands of people involved, and each has selective memory, biased toward building up his heroic role or downplaying his screw-ups. More facts: The government says Bin Laden did it, and Bin Laden says he did it. More more facts: following 9/11, Bin Laden had Bush kidnapped, had plastic surgery, and replaced Bush in the White House. Oops, that just slipped out. Never mind. |

I like how people use Fox News as evidence, now that it's convenient to their cause. Surely, they would be in on the right wing conspiracy as well.

Does this remind anybody else of a scooby doo episode? "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!"

Cheesemind-
If you're trying to prove a point to someone, this is a pretty bad way of going about it. |

Sure, he has no reason to lie at all... Like I said, don't believe what others tell you about the evidence. Look at it yourself. [/ QUOTE ] Holy [censored], that serendipity link is ridiculous... "'One of the wilder stories circulating about Sept 11 ... is that it was carried out by 19 fanatical Arab hijackers, masterminded by an evil genius named Osama bin Laden, with no apparent motivation other than that they 'hate our freedoms.' Never a group of people to be bothered by facts, the perpetrators of this cartoon fantasy have constructed an elaborately woven web of delusions and unsubstantiated hearsay in order to promote this garbage across the internet and the media to the extent that a number of otherwise rational people have actually fallen under its spell. ... These crackpots even contend that the extremist Bush regime was caught unawares by the attacks, had no hand in organizing them, and actually would have stopped them if it had been able. Blindly ignoring the stand-down of the US Air Force, the insider trading on airline stocks — linked to the CIA, the complicit behavior of Bush on the morning of the attacks, the controlled demolition of the WTC, the firing of a missile into the Pentagon and a host of other documented proofs that the Bush regime was behind the attacks, the conspiracy theorists stick doggedly to a silly story about 19 Arab hijackers somehow managing to commandeer 4 planes simultaneously and fly them around US airspace for nearly 2 hours, crashing them into important buildings, without the US intelligence services having any idea that it was coming, and without the Air Force knowing what to do. — Gerard Holmgren: Debunking Conspiracy Theorists'" |

ummmm, I have not read the entire thread because it has degraded into childish rock-throwing. But to those that think the government was behind 9/11 I have one question.
Motive? |

There could be several motives, not the least of which would be to give this administration political ammo to carry out its agenda in the Middle East.
