[ QUOTE ] So, I am on Day 36 of cold-turkey not smoking. I feel like absolute [censored]. I want to punch everyone I see. Pretty much every little thing is pissing me off big time. I can't concentrate and I feel very depressed. I've been road raging at everyone on the streets. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe you should try smoking in moderation. If you really enjoy smoking weed, you shouldn't force yourself to never do it again. If I was quitting right now, I might gradually try smoking once every other day, then every weekend, and then cut it down to once per week or so whenever you feel like relaxing by yourself or enjoying the company of a few friends. Anyway, good luck and keep us updated. [/ QUOTE ] This is really bad advice. |

Turn into a workout fiend for the next little while. Consider the next 34 days a chance to get really healthy. Also, start eating better. Those two things will help you (physically) feel great alot faster.

Maybe you should try smoking in moderation. If you really enjoy smoking weed, you shouldn't force yourself to never do it again. [/ QUOTE ] This is a retarded [censored] statement. I was a daily smoker for over 20 years. A depressed self-medicator. I 'quit' about 3 years ago with a couple of 'backslides'. Meaning, scoring another quarter and then staying stoned day and night until it was gone. With a wife and kid to support. I have now been straight with no 'backsliding' for 18 months. And it [censored] sucks. I still think about how nice it would be to blaze up every [censored] day. "Gee, maybe someday when I'm old and retired I can go hang out in Vancouver for a few months." You're 36 days in, hang on. Weed aside, it takes 90 days to break a bad habit or establish a good one. Being able to function normally, not always worrying about how your eyes look or if people notice the popping noise your cottonmouth makes when you speak, will be worth it. I won't kid you by saying it will be easy, though. Once you're an addict, you are in recovery every [censored] day. Whether your addiction is physical or mental. Good luck. |

I quit for about 3 years after smoking everyday for 5 years when I met my ex wife. I smoked so much I barely could get high anymore. It was hard. I couldn't be around it or I would want to smoke it. I'll tell you what if you ever smoke again after you stop for a while it is the best. Its like getting high for the first time. I thought I was going to die because I was so fukced up. I smoke again, just not as much and only good stuff.

I used to smoke every day for about ten years. One day, I realized I didn't enjoy it anymore. What helped me quit was focusing on the negative aspects of smoking so much. For me- I didn't laugh anymore while toking up. I was reclusive, cynical, and a little paranoid. Also- I had a hard time talking to chicks. So- one day I quit. I didn't miss it a bit. My friends just couldn't understand how I did it. Every once in a while I'll take a hit and it rocks my world. I still love inspecting and smelling buds, but the high is not desirable unless it is a perfect setting (me alone or at a place where everyone is really wacked).
I used to grow a little- that's what I really miss. Anyways- evryone's different, just keep your focus. |

There's only one joint you need to avoid, the next one. Grant yourself anything, any pleasure, instead of smoking that next joint. Day off work? Do it. Dessert for breakfast. Go for it. Deny yourself nothing but that joint.

[ QUOTE ] Maybe you should try smoking in moderation. If you really enjoy smoking weed, you shouldn't force yourself to never do it again. [/ QUOTE ] This is a retarded [censored] statement. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I guess the only two options are to smoke a quarter a day or to not smoke at all. All I am saying is that like anything, moderation is key and overdoing it will obviously lead to a bad habit that interferes with everyday life. I have smoked no more than one day a week, and usually less, for about three years and I don't see how this could possibly be as harmful as smoking a quarter a day. I enjoy hanging out with some friends and smoking on a weekend when I am not working or have any other prior obligations to family or school. How is this any different than going out bar hopping with a group of friends every week? If you turned bar hopping once a week into drinking a handle every night by yourself, then I can see how it has become a problem. |
