just qualified with the turbo 7.5$ rebuy. I gambled a bit in the rebuy period, got rivered twice but still made the break with 4k chips.
People were pretty bad, still making loose call after the rebuy. The blinds go up pretty fast and people start stalling early, so it's basically an all-in fest. Once I made it to 40k, I just stopped playing any hands, played 88 from the cutoff against low stacks blinds, one call and I won a coin flip to take me around 60k. They gave away 20 seats out of 300 players. When it ended, the blinds were maxed out at 20k/40k, the average was 60k and 20th made it with about 20k.

[/ QUOTE ] I did just sign up for one, on a whim thing, and u just played conservatively the whole time, or were u card happy??....I'm very curious bc you claim to be "horrible" [/ QUOTE ] pretty much played tight aggressive poker and didn't bluff / overplay hands especially early. people loved top pair any kicker so i got a few chips early that allowed me to play that way until the 200/400 blind level really. in addition, my AA and KK both held up toward the end, which helps, and as someone else said, once the end was near people played REALLY tight so stealing once or twice per orbit to keep the stack healthy was pretty easy...

Zoiks...I just qualified with the $60. I came in 14th (top 14 qualified) with a paltry t1500 and change left. That's cutting it too close. In the first half hour I had JJ three times, KK twice (one against AA and I flopped a king), and AA twice!! I think the fact I barely held on may indicate I suck; I'm not sure. I think the Fulltilt 100 seat giveaway might be a better value....but this Stars one WILL be huge. I wish they hadn't cancelled the weekly Millions, because this is going to flood the 150 seat.
Also- the $3r is ridiculously easy as well. I came out of rebuy with 10k- about average- and just pushed everything with good position, and pushed over LP stealers, to get me over 150k early. These turbo rebuys are excellent. But I'm not playing in the 150seat....very -EV.

Like moths attracted to the birght lights that burn them,
so are the burritos to the WSOP qualifiers. I've had some of the craziest bad beat expierences in my life in these satelittes and dbl shoot-outs. Might have a big stack, go All-in with KK, get 3 callers with 44, A7, and KQo. Gotta luv 'em.
