I have watched pretty much every world cup (for sometime the only time we in the US were exposed to world class soccer till satelite) game since 1986 and the best player I ever saw was pretty obvious........... Canniggio(ARG) was good too. I doubt he makes the top 20 list though. Roberto Baggio for sure!

Barring a catastrophic injury, by the time he's done he'll almost certainly be in the top 10, and maybe the top half of the top 10. Winning a European title with Arsenal, this World Cup, and a World Player of the Year or two will help him get to that level. He is one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the history of this game.

If you'd bother to actually READ my post, I said that he -might- be in the top half of the top 10 BY THE TIME HIS CAREER IS OVER. He is just reaching his peak right now, and deserves to be in the bottom of the top 20 right now. Christ almighty. People just read what they want to read, I guess, no matter what's actually printed in front of them.
