[ QUOTE ] That's your own fault. No wonder you want a gov't handout. [/ QUOTE ] 1) I make $200/night in tips 2) Where do you keep getting this "you want a government handout stuff?" [/ QUOTE ] I hope you report them. Just sent your IP addy to the IRS with a copy of this. Maybe Bush's spies will watch your financial transactions now. |

You've discounted the possibility that I'm incredibly insecure, and simply bragging by saying I make more than I really do

[ QUOTE ] I have had 3 different jobs that paid me minimum wage. natedogg [/ QUOTE ] And what were they? [/ QUOTE ] 1. fast food 2. dish washer 3. general construction laborer, hauling material, digging ditches, etc. This one was the worst, as it was summer in San Jose and temps were around 100 to 108 on an almost daily basis. All at minimum wage in the late 80s. [/ QUOTE ] So you were making more $ adjusted for inflation than minimum wage workers are today. The current minimum wage is a national embarassment. |

[ QUOTE ]
Just wondering, because I have never met anyone who makes only min. wage. I live in the midwest, where wages are lower than on the coasts. Here are some jobs that I know pay more than min. wage. Dishwasher - I made $8/hour in 1999 doing this. McDonalds - My cousin made between $8 and $9 doing this before he quit a few months ago. Grocery Store - My brother made $5.25 in 1997 when he was 15 when min. wage was 4.25. Just wondering who out there is making min. wage. I'm not saying they don't exist. I'd just like to know who. [/ QUOTE ] I made less than min. wage for a few years while I was in the ARMY. |
