Good post, Jeffage. Finally, an ineresting thread.

If I was playing on autopilot (which I must admit I do a lot more than I ought), I'd be checking this river, satisfied with dragging the pot. Your bet induced a bluff for two extra BB more than I would have won. That's something worth remembering.

Broc turned over K6 for a busted straight and my hand was good. How do we think he played it? I thought it was an interesting hand and I appreciate everyone's comments.

He played it terribly. He's the sort of guy who is smart enough not to bluff off one bet but dumb enough to bluff off two.

[/ QUOTE ]

Nate,

In his shoes, do you play the same except fold river, or do you bet the turn? If Jeff only calls the turn, do you bluff again on the river or give up?

[/ QUOTE ]

The two most optimal lines IMO are probably to raise the flop and play it from there, or just play straightforwardly and not bet/raise unless you hit (I'd consider a king a 'hit').

the guy has a bunch of flaws in his game, but i really can't see how anybody could put him on their buddy list. He is almost definitely a winner in the game. I have played many, many, hands with him at 20/40 and 30/60.

Jeffage I really like the way you played this hand. Basically perfect and not the sort of thing I'm able to do sometimes while multitabling.

Paluka took the words right out of my mouth, except I almost never think this way when playing online. These are the skills are still need to bring from my live game over to online, probably has something to do with time to think.

Everyone's talking about the river play in this thread, and it is excellent, given the insight we have once he checks the turn, but...

Turn play is quite bad -- you just can't give a free card on such a coordinated board. Bet the turn and fold to a raise.

[/ QUOTE ]
Most of the time, a bet goes in anyway and you save getting raised. Also, if I bet this turn with the intention to folding to a raise, I think it would invite disaster. I think check calling is fine as long as you checkraise frequently in your general course of play.

[/ QUOTE ]
1) Does anyone else check this turn?
2) Why do we fear a semi-bluff raise, but not a semi-bluff bet?
3) What line are you taking if he bets the turn and the river?
4) Doesn't checking effectively flip up your hand and show your AK (AQ)?

This last point really bugs me. I feel like the players at 15/30 are value betting me with impunity when I check here. I feel awful when I pay off 33.

I guess I need to sexy more often?

I dont understand why you bet the river here instead of check calling. You're expecting him to call with AJ or something?
