shaniac,
Just depends on the movie. For a big studio picture, 34M is a complete dud, since it could easily cost over 100M to make plus marketing costs. For an art-house film or low budget horror/comedy/whatever 34M could be a huge return. Malibu's Most Wanted had a production budget of $15M, so $34M in theaters was probably pretty good. |

That ain't Jamie Kennedy's fault.
The whole reason they got him and Alan Cumming was because they had already spent a [censored] on the production and wanted the cheapest actors they could find. Malibu's did well cuz you have to factor in DVD foreign and everything else. JKX was always pretty funny in my opinion...and JK didn't have any great connections as far as I know..he simply rode the Scream wave and hussled like a mutherfer. Yeah the MTV show is pretty bad but JK makes it kinda good since he plays it so damn straight. |

I don't think the guy is very charismatic or funny as an actor, but I do kind of like the premise of his new show. Lots of really uncomfortable, God-I-hope-this-is-a-joke type stuff. If he was a better actor I think I might go ahead and say it was pretty funny. Right now it's kind of like masturbating without orgasm. Like late at night when you're too drunk to do anything else, lying in bed, and you're like, 'Meh, let's give it a shot' but it just can't get you there. That's how I feel about Jamie Kennedy's new show.

El D,
I agree with you on all counts - the only exception being his cameo in harold and kumar, when they pull obver and Kumar leaps out to take a piss on the side of the highway, and Jamie Kennedy plays a dude with a moustache and comes out of nowhere to piss in the bush right next to him. . . "Dude, why did you pick this bush of all the bushes around?" "Huh, is this your bush?. . . " "Well I'm just saying. . . " "Are you the king of the jungle?. . . " Something like that. |

In a world of Chad Michael Murray's etc. Jamie Kennedy has way more talent like 75% of working 20 something actors today.

[ QUOTE ] Jamie Kennedy is funny, the Harold and Kumar scene obv riot. [/ QUOTE ] if a five minute cameo in this film is the best anybody can do to defend the humor of Jamie Kennedy, that says a lot. [/ QUOTE ] fwiw, he wasn't even included in the movie credits for this. |
