I'd have to disagree. Way too much time spent on melodramatic filler scenes between Roe and Carm in Paris.

Seriously, if you didn't catch all of the death imagery your really watching a different show.

This episode did seem a little forced to me. I was really hoping for a better scene with the Vito wacking. When you spend that much time on a story line I want a top of the line scene for the wacking. Vito fighting back a bit, Phil holding the pool cue, maybe doing it while he was still alive. Just something.

I really liked the Tony and AJ in the garage. It was a great way for Tony to intimidate AJ without having to do anything physical to him. I'm not sure how possible it was, but I didn't care it was very well done.

Bit of a Godfather feeling when the fat guy gets killed. This is the way mob wars start. It is really what Tony doesn't want and I think it is not what Phil wants either. This is Phils fault. Tony was going to take care of it and then he takes things into his own hands and next thing you know. As Sil said, "[censored] ing Vito."

Did anyone else wonder whether Tony was having a panic attack, or medical problem, in the car, before they moved the camera back and showed that the stripper was giving him a blow job?

[/ QUOTE ]

My dad said it. Then two seconds later when her head pops up we both lost it. I also liked the typical stripper line, "Oh you didn't have to do that, but your sweet." Takes the money and runs.

I thought the episode was the funniest of the season.

Panic attack didn't even pop into my head. They set up the BJ scene faily elaborately, with Carmela telling T that while she's away he should do whatever boys do, then Tony at the Bing looking longinly at the stripper.

Some of it has to do with that. I think most of it was the disgracing of Phil's family. BTW, was that Vito's dad watching the men's bodybuilding? That was hysterical.

uh the guys that work construction for them don't have "mob jobs" wtf?

who was the fat guy they killed?

how many episodes left this season btw?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's a job that he wouldn't get without his father being in the mob. It connects him to his father's business more directly than ever before. He will be there, potentially working for/with/around people working for Tony.

Am I missing an inside joke or something? Why does everyone call him "Phin"? It's Finn.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought it was "Phin" because I thought his name was "Phinneus" or something, but you're right, according to the HBO website it's "Finn".

The Tony-Anthony conversation in the garage was great.

Except you can't put a hole in a windshield with a bike helmet.

[/ QUOTE ]

But you can with a football helmet, which is what it was.

[/ QUOTE ]

Whatever, I still don't think you can put a hole through windshield safety glass with one.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree. I've taken a baseball bat to a beat up car in a junkyard and that safety glass will not break with a clean hole. It's more likely that he'd just shatter the glass but the safety glass remains intact.

I think the some of the Paris scenes were specifially to show the contrast of Carm vs. Tony / good vs. bad etc. I don't remember the exact order but the scenes would jump from Paris: looking at fine art, visiting a church, eating at a fine French restaraunt to NJ: getting a BJ, killing someone, making a pot of sauce. I don't know maybe I'm imagining things.

The part where the Vito's kids are reading the newspaper and trying to figure out what the hell was going on was pretty sad. I think his son understood a little bit but the younger daughter was really confused.
