Somebody like Hollingol, who's playing 24/7, does he make 30k/month or is it closer to 60k or more? [ QUOTE ]

I play about 4hr a day of 2-4,3-6 nl and i make 30k month,
he probabl makes about 300k month

[/ QUOTE ]

No way, especially considering he said he was losing for like the first 4 months of 2006. There's a recent interview of Hollin(however you spell it) out there. Does he have a mil? Probably. Does he make a mil a year, highly unlikely.

Stoxtrader has a blogg where he posts his numbers from Pokertracker. He plays some NL, $300/600 limit, etc and is a very highly respected high limit player.

One week he posted he made $30k. Another week he lost $26k, etc..

He makes a crap load of money, but I doubt he's knocking down $100k a month every month.

A good NL player, playing ALOT, can make over a million playing just 2/4 NL. Though most people would prefer to leisurely making 300k, than making a mill working like a dog.

[/ QUOTE ]

umm thanks, but we already had this discussion. there are plenty of people ready and willing to bet against it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I'll take that bet too. Retarded.

wouldnt the swings at these high levels be really big? if so, making posts based on one months or even 6 months results seems somewhat misleading. I know some are playing ridiculous numbers of hands but still you can have a bad month (car breaks down ,girlfriend leaves you, your dog dies, etc) and wipe out some serious bank
Does anyone have stats showing they actually made 1 mil in a year online? just curious

Without coming out swinging at anyone, i'll just say this:

It's perfetly possible that HEK could make $1,000,000 by the end of the year, and he might not even really have to run that hot to make it there. And Aba, i agree 100% that many players do blame variance when in fact, their play is far from optimal and is a huge factor in their problems. You are absolutley right about this, no one plays their best game all the time.

Now that i have said this, i will add with all due respect that you are HEK are dillusional if you think over the last few months or w/e, you haven't been running above average by a good amount. (I don't meant to insinuate this, i have no idea what either or you thinks of your own abilities) It has been discussed and proven that players with awesome track records that have been huge winners historically can have 100k stretched where they cannot win due mostly to variance. The numbers support this, and the experiences of people like Newwhizzle, BK, FSUplayer, Baronzeus, myself, and others who i won't mention because the discussions i had with them were not public also support this. All Jay is saying is the people who are currently running well will be more likely to attribute it to their play, and think there is something special about the way they play or don't tilt that makes them not have this streaks, when it reality, it is variance. That is pretty much all, no one needs to jump down each others throat, both sides are making valid points, and when players run bad, they tend to attribute a larger portion of sucess to running well, and conversely when people are running well, they attribue less of it to variance.
