Yeah if I was playing pro vs. recreational I think I would change my "never risk more than 5%" to "never risk more than 1-2%" of your roll at any time as the damanage of a downswing goes way beyond the felt of a poker table

BarTuch,

re: Alan's play with open-end straight flush draw.

He played it poorly but it ended up making him the most money, yes. But you guys are right -- it was the wrong move and, overall, if he played that same situation like that 100 times, it's -EV in that long run.

Agreed. It takes a special kind of courage to depend 100% on what you pick up off the felt for your mortgage, food, insurance, 401K, entertainment expenses, etc. etc. I can't stand when I have a losing session ... I can only imagine how horrific it would be if you knew that losing session made it so you couldn't take that weekend jaunt to wherever with your buddies.

Salute to those of you who can put up with the pressure.

BarTuch,

Just put the info about Corp. Mike's name into the FAQ. Isn't it asked every single time he's on the show?

BarTuch,

When Corp. Mike stood up, a TV was behind him playing something. What was it?

BarTuch,

Obviously you guys can't delve into people's personal info but ... I always assumed Russ wasn't a "scared money" kind of a guy -- him taking that long is indicative of those playing in just that fashion, as that was a clear call. What's up with that?

For your next prop bet, how about Bart or Tuch play in a LIPS tourney in full drag.

I'm still psyched that Bart never was allowed to prop bet me that Corp. Mike would make more over X months than Mo. Woah, Nelly, can Corp. Mike drop them buy-in's.
