I would say its almost always correct. Unless you are very outmatched, super short stacked, or your opponent raises PF 90% of the time.

If you are playing against a good player, I really don't think that bottom slice of total trash is profitable. At the minimum, unsuited, unconnected, no paint is like 10% of hands. I really don't think the "but you always have more than 25% equity" argument is worth much with hands that play horrible postflop and when your opponent will raise some significant % of the time (10, 20, 30, 40, whatever. No one's raising 90% OOP).

I could easily be wrong, all I'm basing my sense on is a decent amount of experience winning in the $100s and $200s. One of my theory projects is to break down and rebuild my headsup game. Maybe I'll start limping 93o.
