Default Re: NBA Playoffs

Everybody arguing over where to slot this performance is dumb.

Who cares where it ranks!? The point is, his team won, and it was all because of him. There is pretty much nothing else he could have done (well except make that last shot in OT) to win that game, and yet they barely won by one shot in 2OT.

Also, arguing over this is silly and futile. When it's all said and done, LBJ will have many more (even better) performances.

The dude is 22. The game was against DET. The dude was on the road. It was a swing game.

Look at the BIG PICTURE FOR )*#%)#* SAKE and stop trying to slot the &amp*)*)* performance! The big picture is that we will all have fun watching him perform for years to come, and by the time he's finished, nobody will even have to discuss this game because it will be such a footnote to his career.

BIG PICTURE PEOPLE! STOP TRYING TO SLOT ONE PERFORMANCE WHICH IS A DROP IN THE DAMN BUCKET.

Give Kobe his Pippen and he'll be just as "unselfish" as well.

[/ QUOTE ]

So that's why he never passed to Odom...

[/ QUOTE ]

I know you're just being argumentative(sp?) but obviously Pippen>>>>Odom. The point is that MJ didn't actually start passing more or being less selfish- he just started winning because he had better talent around him, and people someone concluded that it was due to some magical transformation of his selfishness.

[/ QUOTE ]

So is that why Jordan's FG%, TO, and FGA were almost always superior to Kobe's?

[/ QUOTE ]

wtf? What does that have anything to do with what we're talking about right now?

Indicators of selfishness... If Jordan was as selfish as Kobe was/is, then how come it never showed up in his stats?

Answer: He was as "selfish" as Tracy McGrady was in Orlando, which was not at all.

And random guy offering horrible bet, no.

I saw the 63 pointer on TV when it happened. It was very impressive, but there was nothing like the drama of last night. In terms of magnitude, I would rank several of Jordan's performances above it, as well as James' last night.

lol at the kobe love. kobe has never done anything close to what lebron did last night. hell, kobe cant even match lebrons game 3 performance.

and theres a huge diff between kobe and lebron. kobes team hates him and with good reason. he constantly throws them under the bus in interviews and never trusts them during games.

the hate on lebrons mates in unwarranted. they have improved a ton in the last 2 seasons. sasha, gibson, av and gooden have made major contributions. lbj played like crap in games 1 and 2 and the cavs were in a great position to win both bc the team can simply play.

give kobe the same players and there is no doubt in my mind they would not play nearly as well. kobe would not let them. they would get no experience throughout the year and no chance to improve and grow. they would be given no opportunity to make shots in any playoffs. a

all the love for kobe is bs. of course he is very talented but if its him vs the world every fckn game, well, of course he is gonna show up with some amazing performances and win games for his team. problem is he isnt gonna win enough games or nearly as many games if he would invest in his teammates better.

you guys are ignoring all the games kobe botched or wasnt able to overcome an entire opposition. lbj usually doesnt have to resort to 1 on 5 bc what all the analysts and ignorant fans called "coasting" is far better described as "investing." last nights game was an anomaly. lbj doesnt usually take over like and doesnt need to. game 4, with solid contributions from gooden, z and gibson is far more the cavs style.

If a guy shoots a better FG%, thats probably because hes a better shooter.

If a guy has less TOs, thats probably because hes a better ball handler and/or less of a risk taker with the ball.

Neither of those have anything to do with selfishness.

And I have no clue how someone's FGAs can be "superior" to someone elses or what you even mean by that.
