i propose a bodog theorem:
everytime i have a pocket pair, it will get busted by ace-rag. everytime i play ace-anything, it will be dominated by either AK, or someone's ace rag flopping two pair. |

NL Newbie I meant to ask earlier in the thread: how the f+++++ do you play 6,000 hands a day??? You must 12-table, right? [/ QUOTE ] Lol, just alot of poker! Well 9 tabling mainly, i've only got a 19" CRT I enjoy NL$25, NL$50 seems very different right now. Its easy when you feel a large urgency to get back to NL$200 and play the WSOP next year! |

Glad to hear its going better, I guess that today is not my day for poker, lost 2BI at 10NL and just lost my £25 stack playing live, trips vs FH, oh well, I am still up on yesterday, and playing live has been really fun though I am going to give it a bit of a break becasue I am really underrolled for it. Going to get back to grinding online, for a while. BTW, can anyone suggest what sort or roll you need for playing live games e.g. £1-£1 PL where the buying is between £25-£50, would be interested to know. Also, offer is still open if anyone wants to get a drink in london, the gutshot actually has a bar.... Will be around most of next week, pm me if you are interested. I think it could also be quite an educational experince, there is an internet cafe in the gutshot and we could have some sort of coaching, i.e. play some online poker and discuss the hands as they come up.... It would certainly help my poker a lot. Anyways, happy grinding, and good luck to kabouter [/ QUOTE ] Well my session took a giant uturn, and I'm running good now, 1 more hour and then I will post my graph for this month. And you can pm me your cell phone number if you like, I think my girl really doesn't want to spend any time alone, but you never know. If I do have some time in the evening I might be able to visit the gutshot. And about the live BR question, variance is a lot higher at live poker (more donks, more flush chasers, hence more swings). So if you play say 200 pounds no limit, then I would either: a. don't care about the money, just have a good time and if it's gone it's gone. b. keep a 2000 pounds live bankroll I only play live poker once every two months or so, and either the 2/4 limit or shortstack the 5/10 no limit, the latter is far too big for my bankroll, and it's dumb to play it imho. So just try to stay at a level you are comfortable playing at, I play live not for the money, but more for fun, and if I lose like 100 euro's it's ok as long as I played good/had a good time. I play online for the money . |

So is BB/100 in PokerOffice different from PTBB? And why does 1 PTBB =2BB? [/ QUOTE ] Because PT is a limit game and the winrates mean Big Bets not Big Blinds. And a Big Bet is 2x a Small Bet while one Small Bet is a Big Blind preflop. So when PT emulates the Big Bet in NL, it uses 2x Big Blind. There is a checkbox in preferences where you can switch it off and PT calculates the winrates in Big Blinds. But noone uses it because everybody is used to PTBBs. |

Meh, really wasn't sure here...what do you think? [/ QUOTE ] Without a read, villain will not call here without a str8 or flush, imo. I flat call. And hope that he will try to bluff me some more or "valuebet" his TP or 2pair. His betting range is certainly wider than his ai-calling-range. |

Kab, I'm having a similar 100NL day. Was down a BI earlier but have clawed it back and am running pretty well now.
That said, at these stakes I'm missing SO MUCH value because the money does feel bigger and the natural instinct is caution rather than putting in those flop/turn value raises and river value bets. That's pissed me off a bit, but other than that - and the goddam frigging shortstackers - it's really not too bad at all. And unusually, I actually feel I'm playing my normal 50NL game rather than the FPS-hardass rubbish I typically try to pull whenever I move up. I'm a bit unsure about whether to play 100NL this evening though. Friday nights are so nuts on most sites that you could play well and get raped by idicoy. My roll just isn't big enough to take a horrible night like that. So I think I might donk it up at the 50's tonight. |

Genz - your location sounds like mine lol.
Yeah, excellent points. I think I agree with you. I guess the fear of AdKx/AdXx scared me and I thought TP/2P might just put me on a light push. I also felt I was going to call a non d river push anyway, so better to charge the d/worse made hand - but I think this is wrong. If I'd called, he might have put in a smallish river bet which saves me money when behind. Yeah, you are right. Thanks. Oh, I should also say QT didn't cross my mind, which is pretty lame actually lol. |
