Oh come on. First of all..it's a fact that a HUGE portion of Americans of ALL ages don't have insurance. That isn't some way to decide someone is a bad person.

[/ QUOTE ]

I never said he was a bad person. Just a little foolish not to have insurance, especially considering that he's performing high-risk activities that could (and did) get him injured.

It's not like the guy acted like he was hurting for money, either. This is the same guy that posted pictures of himself holding up wads of cash.

Hopefully he's a lesson to other OOTiots out there -- if you're playing poker for a living, you need to get yourself insured!

[ QUOTE ]
And second of all..they only had one side of the story. The guy in the car. He sure as hell wasn't going to say "oh yes officer, it was all MY fault".

[/ QUOTE ]

This is true. Is there some dispute now as to who was the one who was in the wrong?

I agree with you in theory, but I went many years that I didn't have insurance either (we ARE talking about medical insurance, NOT vehicle insurance, just to be clear). But it didn't stop me from doing things I loved..nor should it.

I'll give you that one except half a million in medical fees and loss of income will leave most people strapped for cash.

Isn't there always? The reality is, they have that guys statement and Kwazar doesn't remember the wreck. Which is normal for someone involved in a traumatic accident. I wasn't there so I have no clue what happened. But I HAVE ridden with him many times and he was a very safe rider so I'm not willing to accept that he ran a stop sign on the word of one person, said person being the other one involved in the accident.

Hence the need for insurance. And I meant that he had enough money that he could have afforded insurance, and not that he'd be able to afford his medical bills. What's done is done, though. Hopefully his story will prompt others to go through the trouble of purchasing insurance. Nobody ever thinks that an accident like this will happen to them...stuff like this only happens to other people.

Have you tried putting ads in the LV papers asking for witnesses to come forward? Surely someone must have seen the accident. There's probably someone out there who witnessed the accident, but didn't think it was important to hang around to give a statement to the police.

Kuroshfan had the userid 76525. Unfortunately for his spazzy-ninja bumping ass it looks like someone caught him and he can no longer login to the forums.
