Wait, wait wait.

Hold on a second.

The fact that I don't talk about progress, who I've been sending resumes to / working contacts with, etc. etc. etc. - does that lead you all to believe that I've done literally nothing to find a job in Atlanta from East Texas besides sit here and bitch about having to do it in the first place? Because that would be kinda LOL.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry 'Cardo, but didn't you tell me like two days ago you didn't have a resume? That was when I offered to MAKE ONE FOR YOU and APPLY TO JOBS ON YOUR BEHALF, both of which offers you ignored.

[/ QUOTE ]

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha owned so bad!

This thread makes me ill to read. No matter what you think of someone there has to be a point where you get tired of berating someone and saying the same thing over and over. I understand that the humans natural tendency is the gang mentality, it is always evident in any trainwreck on 2p2 but there are some very bright people in this thread acting like complete fools. Are some of you really this invested in Cardo's life? And please don't act like you care, you can pretend all you want but all many of you are wanting is to join in on the 2p2 poster gang bang of the week. Maybe some of you are actually so caught up in this that you have to post over and over in this thread and reply to seemingly everything--if that's the case then that is pretty sad too. This thread called for advice, you give it and that's it. I am convinced that more people are happier that Cardo hasn't been accepting to all of the advice given, it gives the chance for a trainwreck, a chance for the piranhas to come out.

lol, self-righteousness ftw.

cardo brings this crap on himself with his dismissive attitude of everything sensible.

someone could offer him a job right now and it is obvious that he would find something wrong with it and turn it into an attack on his (self-perceived) intelligence.

C'mon man, don't be so dramatic. If you've read this thread and 'cardo's thread in ElD's forum it's easy to reach the conclusion that certain people who DID care about his predicament have grown TIRED of their advice being spurned, ignored, or dismissed out of hand.

The icing on the cake is 'cardo's pronouncement of his genius concurrent with his unwillingness to subjugate his brilliance to pay the bills, as well as ignoring or insulting people from similar backgrounds who have taken their lemons and made lemonade. This includes multiple people who have met him IRL and are predisposed to liking him or at least not insulting him in an internet forum.

There is just no point in taking this thread seriously anymore.

hmm I don't know or care about most of the people involved in this thread but I will say that I was a lot like the original poster 7 years ago when I was 24. However, I, like, had a s---ty job, and paid my bills, and lived on my own, and wasn't a complete douchebag.

tuq,

So you are telling me that people, no wait, strangers gave advice and then they care so much about this stranger that they are going to keep wasting their time by getting angry over a stranger? wtf, this doesn't make any sense at all. It isn't dramatic, it isn't self-righteousness (by-tor) b/c if I give someone advice and we don't see eye to eye, I am not going to get all bent out of shape about it.

My point is that you don't have to like someone and you don't have to understand what they are doing but there is no reason for half of these posts, do you not agree? Some people are just posting w/ nothing to say, just an insult to join in on the party--what good does that do?

Some of you are f'ed up if you think that there are attached feelings to the majority of the posts in this thread.

tdarko,

I feel like while I haven't offered advice in this thread, I've tried to give Anacardo an outsider's account of where he's at right now, and received no response at all.

This has certainly become a free-for-all, with many of 2p2s most proficient rhetoricians stepping up to grind Anacardo's arguments into dust. I don't think that's quite fair, but then again Anacardo brings it on himself. Really, it's a lot of people taking it personally that 'cardo won't do what they suggest, for no good reason.

Anacardo,

If you didn't want jobs that involved sweeping or taking out the trash, there were certainly those avenues available to you, and there still are. As everyone has noted, you certainly have the intellect to get yourself out of this mess, but it's a matter of putting aside your ego and realizing you're not a genius, and finding yourself a worthwhile task to commit to. That's difficult and I certainly haven't done it - but again, it's very easy to convince yourself you're smart when you read more books than most people, but you're not in school anymore, and that [censored] doesn't mean anything in the real world.

tdarko,

Deep breaths.

Whether you like to admit it or not, people get attached to people they get to know on the internet not too unlike those they meet IRL. In the case of Anacardo he's met with a ton of folks on these forums, is regarded as an influential forum poster, and apparently is a regular poster in the IRC version of 2+2, #sstakes (don't you visit this a fair amount?).

So rapport and trust builds and then when it gets tapped only to be ignored, glossed over, or thrust back in their faces these people feel indignant or pissed off. How is that not hard to understand?

There are a few posters in this thread who wouldn't post what they have if they hadn't reached their wit's end regarding all of this.

to add to what tuq said:

it is very infuriating than being asked for advice only to have all of it ignored. it makes you wonder why the person asked in the first place.

I think that some people here honestly did care---several people gave well-thought out, well-reasoned, honest responses of varying lengths. Some people apparently extended courtesies such as generating resumes (FFK) or working directly to help Anacardo find some work (t0ne). These suggestions required effort and obviously demonstrate some degree of caring. If these suggestions were accepted, taken under consideration, or even rejected with some semblance of gratitude and a logical argument, there probably wouldn't be hundreds of posts in this thread. That's not what happened here. The laughable reasons and arguments for rejecting many of the responses here have been repeated ad nauseum, and this thread has moved from frustrating to laughable to pathetic.
