nobody is taking burrell. [/ QUOTE ] There are plenty of teams that would take him if the Phils covered most of his salary. The problem is he's only worth maybe 1-2 mil. So the Phils would have to pick up 12 + 15 next year. Also he isn't waiving his no trade. |

There's no one out there that can start. Our best hope is that "Batting Practice" Durbin keeps throwing quality starts, which isn't much of a hope. I know we have too many CF, but there's no reason to trade Rowand for thirty cents on the dollar. Let him finish off his awesome year and trade him in the offseason.
And Howard isn't on a tear, he's thermo-nuclear explosive right now. He's already an MVP candidate again, which is pretty amazing considering his start. avg/obp/slg/ops hr/rbi C. Rowand is a FA after the season. If a team could trade and work out an extension with him he'd be worth more. It seems he's almost certainly going back to CWS though.
Durbin was once a top prospect (I believe, its the only reason I can think that he's been given chances with so many teams). So its not impossible to think he will continue to do decent. I'm more shocked on how well he swings the bat. |

Oh yeah!! One run game in the bag! Should be easy sailing until Durbin pitches against the pirates.

Pat Burrell is worth more than 1-2 million dollars a year. As already said in this thread, when his average was so low his BABIP was shockingly low....largely not his fualt. He is super slow and a defensive liabilty but with his insane on base percentage he's a well above average offensive player.

I dunno about that. While BP does list his 2007 MORP at 11.5mil I really doubt anyone would pay him that since most projections expect him to drop off significantly.

Oh, Burrell is definitely not worth what he is paid....that is for certain. But he's still probably a .850 OPS guy.
