I moved up to 10NL today. I was a little bit nervous, but this hand assured me there are just as many donks, they're just losing more money. Reraise to isolate is good, no?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

MP ($6.69)
CO ($1.65)
Button ($3.33)
SB ($2.27)
BB ($3.77)
Hero ($12.63)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $0.2</font>, MP calls $0.20, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises to $3.77 (all-in)</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $12.63 (all-in)</font>, MP folds.

Flop: ($16.62) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

Turn: ($16.62) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

River: ($16.62) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

Final Pot: $16.62

Results below:
BB has Kc Ac (two pair, kings and tens).
Hero has Ah As (two pair, aces and tens).
Outcome: Hero wins $16.62.

nh, but why not go for the overcall? You know there won't be any more than 3 players, and MP will only have like 1/4 pot left if he calls, so will easily be all in on the flop. In fact he'll probably push pf if he plays at all. Marginally higher variance but ++EV I think.

Hmm, I guess I'll overcall next time. It looks more donkish, and it should be ++EV, yes. I don't think I could've dealt with losing my first AA at a new level, though...

So, I've been experimenting with short stacking because I'm thinking about tring to short-stack the really big games ($2000NL or higher).

Anyway, I think I'm playing okay, practicing, but for some reason short stacking just seems to summon the wrath of the poker gods, I'm taking the worst beats. People call shorty shoves with the most unbelievable things, but so far KK &lt; Q8s

Stack sizes:
UTG: $400
UTG+1: $314.40

Uncalled bets: $14 returned to Hero.

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($1206, 1 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $1192, Sidepot 1: $14)

CHEEZE. Last 2 days donking around at .5/1 cause my roll is tied up. Felt like I've been playing well and my stats look good, I just can't seem to make any money though!
