[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] greatest performance I have ever seen by anyone. [/ QUOTE ] Kobe did drop 81 not too long ago. [/ QUOTE ] In a completely meaningless game. Lebron hit every single likbig shot at the end minus one. I think it's the scoring the last 25 points in a double overtime win that does it for me. I've never seen anything like it. If the Cavs lose this game, it's over for them. He scored 29/30 to save the whole season. [/ QUOTE ] it was a great performance and could be a turning point in his career...if he keeps it up. but I've seen Kobe do end of the game destroyer like this a zillion times |

But I think some of you are ignoring how awful the Pistons played, on both sides of the ball. [/ QUOTE ] The Pistons have played awful this entire series. Every single game of it has been nothing what I saw in the regular season or in last years playoffs from the Pistons. There comes a point where you have to give the credit to the Cavaliers for their play against the Pistons. Teams don't often randomly play terrible for 5 straight games. This series could be 5-0 or 4-1 right now. |

Kobe scoring 81 vs. Toronto vs. Lebron tonight. Hmm. I'll take the playoffs, the Pistons, and the last 25. I'm not a big fan of Kobe though.

kyleb is spot on about Booz. Boozer & Lebron = championship contender every year that they're healthy. [/ QUOTE ] he really isn't. Letting him out of that deal with their agreement in place was pretty much their ONLY chance to keep him. If they'd just let him play out the year for 700k, then other teams would still be in line to offer the max, and Cleveland still wouldn't be allowed to match. Here's some more quotes from wikipedia's Boozer page on the situation: [ QUOTE ] As Boozer's comment indicated, an explicit contract agreement would not be permissible under the NBA's collective bargaining rules, and would be punishable by the league if it were discovered. Despite this fact, it is still believed to be common practice among NBA teams and players to make such agreements secretly. [/ QUOTE ] edit: I see that somehow Kyle used that same quote to say the Cavs needed to get it in writing, but that makes no sense, as it obv doesn't matter if the agreement they might sign would be illegal And if you really believe there was no agreement as Boozer claims: [ QUOTE ] Nonetheless, absent some sort of commitment from Boozer, there would seem to be no explanation for the Cavaliers' actions in allowing him restricted free agency in the first place. Furthermore, SFX Management, the agency which had been responsible for representing Boozer, immediately dropped him as a client and declined to accept the $2 million fee owed to the firm as a result of Boozer's contract with the Jazz. The firm did not publicly elaborate on its reasons for doing so, but to many, it seemed to be an indicator that SFX felt it needed to dissociate itself from Boozer's actions in order to protect its own reputation for trustworthiness. Such actions would not seem to be necessary if there never had been any commitment to the Cavaliers from Boozer. Consequently, Boozer's denials have done little to change the widespread perception that he had made some sort of commitment to the Cavaliers—even if it had been illegal to have done so—and then failed to honor that commitment.
