After the worst online poker night of my life last night, and it following on this evening (suckout after suckout after suckout - AK with TPTK on the flop with villian catching a Q on the river to make his pocket KQo good was just one of a number of 3 outers I succumbed to), these hands happened at the same time (I was four tabling $1/2). They made up for over half my losses from the last 36 hours in 2 minutes.

Hand no. 1:

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, BB calls, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 caps</font>, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, Hero calls, BB calls.

Flop: (20 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(5 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB calls, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, BB calls, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 caps</font>, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, Hero calls, BB calls.

Turn: (19 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB calls, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 raises</font>, MP1 calls, Hero calls, BB calls.

River: (27 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
Hero checks, BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 bets</font>, MP1 folds, Hero calls, BB calls.

Final Pot: 30 BB

Results:

Villian 1 [ As, Ah ] a pair of aces.
Villian 2 [ 4d, 4c ] three of a kind, fours.
Hero shows [ Tc, Th ] three of a kind, tens.

Hand no. 2:

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, MP1 calls, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB caps</font>, MP1 calls, CO calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (16 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises</font>, MP1 calls, CO calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (12 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises</font>, MP1 calls, CO calls, Hero calls.

River: (20 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, MP1 calls, CO calls, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 24 BB

Results:

Villain 1 shows [ Ad, Jd ] a pair of jacks.
Villian 2 shows [ Ah, Js ] a pair of jacks.
Villian 3 shows [ Qd, Qc ] a pair of queens.
Hero shows [ Td, Ts ] three of a kind, tens.

Yes, I feared the flush in both pots - the way things have gone, I was actually expecting it. I was more than pleasantly surprised. And the flop bet in the 2nd hand was probably too aggressive, but it was playing slightly behind hand no. 1 and I was feeling frisky.

I know - I'm quite disgusted with myself for that play. Looking back, I can't believe I didn't. But honestly, I'm seeing monster cards everywhere at the moment - the last couple of days have made me fear EVERYTHING. Obviously, two other people held a set of Jacks for a start.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Be like the child in your avatar. Filled with wonder of the world and afraid of nothing.

I think you played poorly on the river, or was it excellent in some way that escapes me? How did you know BB had quad tens?

I'll agree I played it poorly (on all streets) but good reads are priceless.

I pulled out of it thanks to an incredible night at one table where I was playing 3-4 handed with an incredibly loose moran who was addicted to donk on my right, and the rock of ages (seriously, 9/6 at a 3-4 handed table) to my left.

Hi Wookie,
I see you hit quite a few different sites in your 5/10 adventure. Do you cast such a wide net looking for good games, or do you not have any particular preference between the rooms?

Hero thinks about check raising here but figures UTG+1 will bet out turn and he thinks table will call so he decides to wait till turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

Seemed smart at the time. And [WARNING: results orientated and sarcasm] it saved me 1 SB in the end becuase as the pot got over 15BB, history has shown that I had no chance to win it even if my opponents all folded!

I realized that I lost just about the absolute minimum I could lose on this hand without folding the river (which I would never do).Preflop: Hero is UTG with 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. MP posts a blind of $1.

Hi Diet,
I looked at this hand wrong before. I thought there were two tens on the board and you should raise; but there were three. You could have easily laid those quad fives down on the river unless you were eligible for a bad beat jackpot. That was an easy fold, unless you just wanted to see them so you could tell the story. (which isn't a bad reason for one more bet. )
