That article sucks. I'm sure there are TONS of 'canes fans.... going to a couple of bars is hardly represenative of the fan base. I really hate any AP/ESPN article on hockey as they always twist everything around. The 'canes and preds are doing good and both had like the loudest stadiums before the lockout. They are still new teams and growing, give them a little more time.

As for the AP/ESPN... I was at the Sharks/Oilers game 5. This is the game both the AP and ESPN wrote "you couldn't hear the Canadian anthem until the final line, the boo's were so loud"

Well, I was at that game... did the fans boo? Yes. Until the final line? Not even close. The boos lasted a total of like 10 seconds and then the WHOLE STADIUM was singing 'O Canada'. Ahh, ESPN forgot to mention that.

Hockey-bashing is the thing to do after the lockout.

All I know is this....you go to ANY BUFFALO BAR with a TV and the game will be on, and it will be packed and EVERYONE will be watching it....4 years ago when the Sabres were at best mediocre, I used to TGIFridays and it was 5 deep at the bar the entire way around the game on every screen and it was the middle of the season and not G1 or G2 of the ECF for christs sakes.....

oooh....2-0 Canes quickly...im not watching but from the reports...Buffalos forcing all the action and Gerber saved a couple goals so far, and Carolina has managed to take advantage of there chances and the PP....sounds like Carolinas doing to Buffalo what Buffalo does to other teams...

Yep that's pretty much it. Apparantly Gerber had the flu during the Montreal series? If that's the case there is cause for concern because he was scary good vs. Buff. in the reg. season and in the Olympics.

OK, but have you been to Carolina? I haven't but who knows what bar this reporter went to. Maybe it's a dump and only the same 5 people are there night in and night out. Unless you live in Carolina, I don't think you can comment on how great/crappy their fans are. I do know they had the loudest stadium.

I just know reporters are [censored] when it comes to hockey.

It may be a stupid article but the TV ratings for Game 1 in the Raleigh area drew a 1. In Buffalo it was a 23.

Where'd you find this? Also not sure how ratings work, what's a normal rating for a sporting event in Raleigh?

Again, I have no idea how the fans are in Carolina... I'm just saying I wouldn't take a single hockey-bashing article as my proof.

Miller's picked a bad time to let in goals. First one I'll give him, but he has to stop the 2nd. Gerber has robbed at least two for his team. Janik has played very good so far, Jillson pretty mediocre. Still time.

HAHAHA Carolina is [censored]!!!! OLN just announced teams are 15-0 when leading after the first period by 2 or more goals. That's like saying X goalie has had 123:35 of shutout hockey... within 5 minutes he will let in a goal guaranteed.
