I use ranges to justify what seems to be a brilliantly 0EV call in a massive pot. I'm always making those.

PF was wierd - UTG was a maniac so I didn't 3bet him, and BB was bad too.

I'm not quite sure what your critising?

Any party players here?

What are your thoughts on the jackpot tables? Is it better to play them, or the regular ones? I was thinking that you lose some EV or at least increase variance because of the jackpot system. However, they should attract a lot of fish to them, shouldnt they? Thoughts?

depends, sometimes there are Jackpot tables with huge fish, then u should play, but when fish are gone, or when its not more fishy then reg tables u should leave them.

to clarify: only profitable to play for jackpot value. the tables presumably are fishier though, i guess you have to judge. i never played on them.

its a sneaky way to ask more rake too, cos a part goes to party, way more then they need to keep that jackpot up i think.

At a jackpot table 50c is taken extra from the pot to the Jackpot, and no it isn't an extra rake, all goes to Jackpot.

There where a lot of calculations back in the day, but the word was, that you had to play 200NL+ to not get badly hurt by the extra 50c taken from the pot

If you want to play it for Jackpot value, then it is +EV when when Jackpot reaches some size (160000$ ?) but you have to play limit, not NL
