On the same note, does anyone have any input on the buy-in minimum for the no limit games? I fully understand how the statute is written and the buy-in will not exceed $100. However, I am wondering what you all think the low end allowable buy in for a 1-2 NL and 2-3 NL blind games should be?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Why would you possibly want to buy in at less than $100?

From what I have heard from the few rooms I have talked to the buyin will be $100 min and max. It's really the way it needs to be with such a low max to work with. Any other way would just slow the game down with rebuys and new players every 5 min. There really is no reason to buyin into a 1/2 NL less than $100 let alone 2/3. Any one who can't afford to buyin for $100 and at least a couple of rebuys you should probably find a different game.

The bill on the Governor's desk, SB752, does not mention a time charge.

[/ QUOTE ]

The bill does not limit the amount of the "rake" or how it is taken. Just that it must be posted.

I went back and looked at the original bill. What most people have been looking at is the NEW bill, which only changes parts of 849.06 if you look at the OLD law you will find
------------
(10) FEE FOR PARTICIPATION.--The cardroom operator may charge a fee for the right to participate in games conducted at the cardroom. Such fee may be either a flat fee or hourly rate for the use of a seat at a table or a rake subject to the posted maximum amount but may not be based on the amount won by players.......
------------
This section has NOT been changed by the new bill.

I talked with several floor's at the Jacksonville Best Bet last night. And as it stands now they are waiting for "rules" to come down from the "Division of Pari-mutuel Wagering" to finalize just what and how they will be running after July 1st.

A few things they are leaning to are:
1) A spread limit stud game [very likely]
2) A spread limit Holdem game [likely]
3) A Bad-Beat jackpot [very likely]
But not a High Hand one, you will still get a hat for Royal
4) The rake on the No-Limit game will NOT be TIMED, same 10% up to $5.

Not much else has been decided, they are kicking around alot of things but nothing has been set.

They have ordered Green ($25) and Black ($100) chips, plus more of the Red ($5) ones.

I will check again and post if anything changes, but I suspect that alot of things will not be set till just before the 1st.

Before someone jumps up here is the section from 849.086:

(4) AUTHORITY OF DIVISION.--The Division of Pari-mutuel Wagering of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation shall administer this section and regulate the operation of cardrooms under this section and the rules adopted pursuant thereto, and is hereby authorized to:

(a) Adopt rules, including, but not limited to: the issuance of cardroom and employee licenses for cardroom operations; the operation of a cardroom; recordkeeping and reporting requirements; and the collection of all fees and taxes imposed by this section.

Thanks dude, I'm going up there now and was going to ask if I didn't see your post. Did you happen to ask about tourneys or did they just not know?
