Also, Kobe's 3rd quarter was the most unreal quarter of basketball I've ever seen him play. And I was at his 81 point game. He went took 19 shots and didn't miss! That running one-footed 18 footer over Kirilenko was just unfair.

Taraz - actually I went and read his full quotes / comments on the game at LA Times. KC was right, he was totally humble and [censored] - so I was wrong to jump all over him on that comment.
[ QUOTE ] It seems like no matter what comes out of his mouth people are bashing him for being fake and smug. [/ QUOTE ] Dude has generated enough ill-will with his years of smugness and jackassery that it will be hard to overcome for some fans of the NBA (e.g. me). But there is no denying his talent - I've even made the claim on these boards he might be the most talented player to ever suit up. This will never be seen statistically of course, but he is f'in something to watch. -Al |

Random thought: With all of the young talent that the Celtics have and a possible high pick in next year's draft, any way they trade for KG? A KG and Pierce combo would be interesting.

doubtful. I really don't think KG ever leaves.

If I were the TWolves I would let it be known that KG is on the trading block, get teams in a bidding war, get one or two stud prospects, tank the rest of the season and get Greg Oden hopefully.
I have to think that teams like the Lakers(Odom and Bynum?), Celtics(Green and a few others?), Hawks(Williams and a few others), etc. are possible trading partners. In fact, if I was Minnesota I'd be content with just one stud prospect as long as they could clear some cap room and get a solid role player or two in the deal. Imagine for example if they got Williams from Atl. Williams and Durant or Oden would have the potential to dominate the league for years to come. And if they dumped salary like I said then they could go after someone like Vince Carter whne hes available. And then don't forget about those role players from the deal. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't really think the Celtics could put together an attractive enough deal that would also work under salary cap rules. You'd have to include Szczerbiak for his salary and then give up at least two number one picks along with some combination of Kendrick Perkins, Sebastian Telfair, and Delonte West. Why would you want to do this if you're Minnesota? It doesn't make you better at all. |

I would agree that the T-Wolves should be hoping for something like this, but I just don't think the Celtics have a "stud prospect" and I don't think their draft pick will be that high to pick up Oden. This is especially true since the C's would have KG and Paul Pierce in the Eastern Conference and they'd probably be a top 4 seed.

sign Carter???? Actually, I could totally see McHale giving him the max next year.

1. Imo Green is a stud prospect
2. I was referring to the Timberwolves own pick as having a shot at Oden. If they traded KG, that team would majorly struggle in the Western Conference and this looks to be an excellent draft class, so even something like the #3 pick would be great. 3. Minnesota is going nowhere. If I were a fan, I would rather them try something outlandish and fail than continue to be content doing what they've been doing. |

[/ QUOTE ] My mistake on the draft pick stuff. I agree they should blow up the situation. You really think Gerald Green is going to be that good? I guess I haven't really seen him play all that much aside from the few highlights. I've heard his jumper is pretty nice. What kind of player do you see him developing into? |
