Maulik,

Those blue ones just look like you're walking around in slippers.

kat,

what shoes would you wear with the dress to work?

[/ QUOTE ]

Maulik, I'm not sure. I want something really feminine without too high of a heel.

It's not business professional. What's your profession? It my opinion women as a whole don't understand how to dress at semi-business formal.

Maulik,

If you don't mind could you post examples of appropriate business work attire for women who work in an architect firm? I'm interested in your opinion.

The dress

What about a slingback style? Some heel though, very feminine and summery.
(Kind of tough to find, this is what I got)

What is your opinion of this dress for work?

Based on the "dress for the job you want" philosophy, I'd say this dress is fine for work, as long as the job that you want is that of the receptionist.

And I'm not being snide about receptionists when I say that. But that's what the dress says to me. I'd expect you out front answering the phone and putting calls through.

This only applies if we are talking about semi-traditional office kinds of jobs. For elementary school teachers and similar fields and some of the more creative industries this would be fine, I think.

I suppose it suits my personality. I have rather low expectations and low ambitions.

What about hats?

Apparently they are on the list of trends for fall.

[b]FASHION WEEK: FALL 2007 TRENDS[b]

HAT'S ON

There was a major revival in millinery for fall ranging from wide-brimmed styles to fedoras to top hats. Fall 2007 is all about looking like a lady.

And what about summer hats?

Cowboy hats?

Baseball caps?
