he played more than 2 times, not sure the exact number but it was closer to 20. He had shoulder surgery in february or march and missed the rest of the season.

hm, youre right. 16 appearances. maybe the injury was why i felt like he never played. the only 2 games i remember him playing all season were the game early in the year where he had that sick cross, and in the fa cup final where he scored. however, i am confused:
2006- Arsenal 16 (0) i thought he scored in the fa cup final? |

[ QUOTE ]
saviola to real madrid. soooo gross. i have a feeling we will regret this one. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not really sure what happened with him. He just never seemed to work out or really get a chance. I was hoping he would sign for Sevilla after having won the UEFA Cup there. I think for him signing for Real Madrid was a mistake. I think it's likely that he won't play too much. They aren't the youngest team up front but when they finally figure out that Raul sucks and van Nistleroy gets too old they'll probably just pay huge dollar for whoever the biggest name is that doesn't play for another huge club. I think he would have been better off signing for Atletico de Madrid or some other team which would feature him, but opted to make more money and give a [censored] you to Barça. |

Players from Mali, Senegal, and Cameroon may soon be considered EU nationals. According to As, Real Madrid are appealing to the FEF (Spanish Football Federation) asking that they count Diarra as a national because of a recent anti-discrimination treaty naming those 3 countries. They say that they would be discriminating against players from those 3 countries because if they had 3 other players from outside of Europe they would be forced to sit them more often than they otherwise would.
Seems a pretty weird argument. I'm also not familiar with an antidiscrimination case where an employer went to a government body and said "Hey guys, we're breaking this law. DO SOMETHING!" If the FEF approves their request I wouldn't be surprised if other EU countries followed suit. |

Cannavaro on the way out of Real Madrid?:
http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/7024862 Would he even get a starting position at Chelsea? He didn't impress me at Real (though I didn't see more than half a dozen Real games) and both Terry and Carvalho are much younger. |
