Also I think one of my biggest problems is when I've been on an upward trend, and it seems like a new downswing is starting. I get really really upset when this happens and if there's any time I play sub-optimally this would be it.

Suzzer, this is really going to kill you in the long term if you feel like the sky is about to start falling whenever you lose a couple of sets. It's impossible to play your best poker with that attitude even if you believe you're playing well.

I'm not trying to be a jerk as I've also had my own mental struggles with the game that I'm trying to deal with. One thing I've learned is if you feel like a loser, in general, you will lose.

I agree. Maybe now that I've identified it I'm a little clearer I'm closer to isolating and containing the feeling.

Also as far as not playing 100% I think I have a good plan in playing only $60s and sets for a long while. The problem seems to be sticking to the plan. Can I have Stars ban me from anything over $60? Actually though I run about my best at the $109 non-turbos. So leave those in. And how can I not play a 6x$119 if it's the_rotter, capistrano1, intervention, dare_you and bigpimpn1? Barry Greenstein would be mad at me for not taking an edge when I see one right? Ugh.

Also a lot of the $60s I played today got to BB 600 with like 5-6 people. Not a good sign.

This is true for the most part. It seems that when the "other guy" gets lucky, some people have a tendency to think that they are entitled to be equally as lucky at some point to even things up.

So, you chase the 2 outers, bluff with marginal hands and play p/f like "they" do. All to get even. Hey, it has to level out sometime, right??? Wrong. It doesn't have to and probably won't.

The reason that long-term winners are winners is b/c they maximize their "luck". In other words, they place themselves in a position to win the lucky hands based on their knowledge of the math of the hand, the situation and so forth.

Anyone can get "lucky" for a period of time. (See Jamie Gold). Therefore, anyone can be equally as unlucky for any given period of time.

Use the edges that we have developed correctly and you will naturally become more "lucky" than the average player. Emotions have no place in the game IMHO.

It might be dude. But you don't know that. I swear, that's why I get the urge to post hands in here and stuff. Some people get struck by lightning. Just because the odds are 1 in 10,000 or something doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Well, I have eagles on ignore, but let me guess, he's insisting that you must be doing something wrong. Where have I heard that before?

[/ QUOTE ]

i think it came up right around the time you went busto.

did you ever consider that the fact you have the best posters in this forum on ignore may be the reason you get nothing out of here?

[/ QUOTE ]

He's just ignoring him because he's Canadian. Unfortunately for him, Canadians are good at Poker. That dates back to Canada's eugenics program of breeding the best poker playing men with the best poker playing women in an attempt to take over the poker playing world. Canada decided to do that after the freezer was invented and their economy based on exporting ice was devastated.

i never laugh out loud when reading 2p2 and i just told my buddy to come in the room so i could read that to him...

If anyone here can run a criminal check that includes misdemeanors and goes back to at least 1990 and it wouldn't be a big deal, I would super appreciate it.
