Just for the dumb among us (like me):
What is the RTR freeroll - some special event? And what does RTR stand for? I can't believe it, I'm playing practically exclusively on FTP but don't have a clue. |

These two hands made me happy. First hand I'd often fire the river vs. this fairly nitty guy, but I've decided I'm going to chill out with my aggression a little bit.

I am really upset right now. I am Australian, and moved to London about 2 years ago, with the view to going back to Australia eventually once my career path is sorted. Anyway so I'm thinking about heading back at the end of next year, and of course I will be spending a great deal of my time playing sweet, sweet poker.
So I decide randomly to check out how the local casino in Sydney spreads poker, and end up stumbling onto an Australian poker forum. ....AUSSIE POKER GAMES ARE SO SO SO SOFT!!! I feel like taking the next plane home and making a billion gazillion dollars pawning all the fishies in the Star City Casino...check this out: [ QUOTE ] "I played yesterdy on the 1/2 tables and I am still thinking about this hand. limped to me on the button, I have qq. I raise to 10$, sb calls, BB raises to 20. I call, sb calls. Flop comes down 10 7 4, 2 clubs. Sb checks, BB raises 30 I call, not sure if BB has PP. SB calls. Turn comes, 2 no club. SB pushes, BB calls, I call. River comes low again no club, no straight. BB pushes all in for about 60. I [censored] myself, go all soft and fold. SB shows 10.J for top pair, BB mucks. AMA NOTE: AAHHHHHHH!!!!! I start to cry. My question is what should I do, should I push the flop or the turn, or did I make the right move. I think I was soft and shoulda called his all in. Any advice appreciated. Thanks. [/ QUOTE ] HOLY MACKEREL [ QUOTE ] No significant data on either player. Stopped HH at last decision but opinions on all streets would be appreciated. [ QUOTE ] I guess your MTT donkaments doomswitch has rusted away? [/ QUOTE ] Well, I freely admit there were a couple lucky breaks that got me to the final table (like when my JJ beat QQ and AKs all-in preflop for 106k chips and my tournament life), but I still think I'm fundamentally unlucky in MTTs. Plus I hate 'em. You know how we hate sitting at a table with shorties? Imagine a world where everybody is a shorty ALL THE TIME: that's the last half of a tournament. At the final table, I don't recall a single hand where there was action on the turn or river: all hands were either folded or all-in by then. Flipping coins for hundreds of dollars does not amuse me; I can only imagine how frustrating it would be if I was flipping a coin for REAL money (WSOP). ---------- kazana said: [ QUOTE ] What is the RTR freeroll - some special event? And what does RTR stand for? [/ QUOTE ] RTR stands for "Rake The Rake," and I'm not really allowed to say much more about it in this forum, other than that they are a 2+2 affiliate and that you could read more about them in this forum, if you get my drift.... Once per month (always on a Sunday afternoon) they offer a freeroll with a hefty prize pool (this one was $6,000 total) for their customers who generated a sufficient amount of Full Tilt points in the month before (I believe the usual target is 500 points generated). As such, I'm always entered but (like many others) I don't always remember to play. Seeing how very many people are no-shows, it would certainly be possible to slowplay and blind your way into the money every month, though it would be slightly more exciting to watch the paint dry in your living room.... |
