to everyone that thinks Desmond is dead. He'll be back next year. There was an article online (sorry i can't find the link) that stated he would be regular next season. Plus from the way the season ended its seems like him and his ex are both very important to the story. They're not gonna show his ex on the last scene then kill Desmond and never show her again? I feel that this finale was more for the casual-but-loyal Lost viewer, which is the majority of the audience.
I think it was my being one of the overly-obsessed fans that left me far from having my mind blown. However, that let me get some of the references that were made that the other casual fans would've missed (i.e. the Hurley-bird). I was somewhat disappointed with the 'revelations', yet still plenty satisfied with the episode/season as a whole. I find it strange that, despite all the fascinating things to consider, this is all I have been able to think about since last night. It was only on screen for a few seconds, and really had nothing to do with the finale plot, but that was the closest my mind came to being blown from it. 4 months until we get 7 new consecutive episodes. Then 3-4 months until 16 more consecutive episodes. |

I'm still trying to figure out if the fake psychic had a real vision or was just being used to get Claire on the plane.

Here's the theory I have held about the psychic since watching season 1, and I think it's coming closer to being proven true (especially after '?'):
When Claire goes to give her baby to the first couple, the lawyer explains that she will be given $20k (in addition to hospital bills being paid) once she is discharged from the hospital. She goes to sign the paper, the pens don't work, and she takes that as a sign to see what the psychic wanted. He keeps telling her to keep the baby while he calls around trying to find somebody outside the country (for legal reasons) willing to pay $20k+ for it. He finds a couple in LA, and he sets up the deal. In the episode, you see the psychic offer Claire $12k to go through with the LA couple deal - $6k now and $6k when she arrives in LA. He shells out $12k plus travel expenses so that he will get the $20k after she gets out of the hospital. Profit to the psychic: $8k. |

How does he know how much she was offered-20k?
The idea that the fake/skeptic had a real vision is way cooler but oh well. The whole kates baby is tied to the history of the island has me confused. Is it Hanso's baby? |

Claire could've mentioned the $20k to him at some point when telling him about the pens not working (I'd assume she would've talked about that incident), or this is just a standard scam that he has done before and he knows the 'going-rate' for babies.
I read in I think it was an Ask Ausiello column that there was an extra scene in '?' that clearly answered whether the psychic was a fake or not but it was cut out because the mystery would be more fun. |

When they cut to the scene with the two guy playing chess in the snow hut they show some pretty big mountains in the distance. Are there mountains that big on the poles?
