Is this a standard play for KK or did I play too passive? No reads yet. There's a guy in my DB I have about 10k hands on (way more than any other player). He plays 10-12 tables, runs 14/5/3 and plays from 25nl-200nl. He's obviously a winning player, and I'm trying to make sense of my notes on him to formulate a better strategy since I play against him so much. I'm up against him overall, but I feel like I never quite a handle on him.
So anyway, my notes say this: He will make (small) overbet stabs at the pot on the river in uncontested limped pots with air. He's very weak tight, but he plays back against the tags in weird ways. In a BVB vs me, he completed/raised w/ Q7o He takes standard c/c, c/r lines or stack-a-donk lines with big hands. He made a massive overbet push with a rivered TPGK 3 handed once. He plays back hard in position against tags, 3-betting, floating, etc. OOP, he likes to c/r cbets with air and big hands. We had a series of hands once where in 4 straight orbits, I raised preflop, he called OOP and check raised the flop, I pushed, he folded except for the last time where he called with near air. I feel like that should be plenty of info to come up with some solid ways of exploiting him, any input? |

I should say he was very weak tight for about the first 8k hands. He's either getting better or finally adjusted to me constantly taking pots from him.

Try to get position on him constantly and continue to piss him off. I'm sure youll get a lot of his money eventually.

Or are you mislabeling yourself when you say, that you are constantly taking pots away from him? Actually, I'd condense my notes to: DNP OOP, VBTD (=do not play oop, value-bet to death) and that's it. If you can't avoid him, bet for value and hope he choses to play back this time. Often, you can't push these guys of their bluffs constantly when they are in position. The only measure often is a poosh. And you can only hope that his play is pretty inbalanced towards bluffing when you start doing this... |

i ran so bad today at 2NL, had KK vs AA twice, QQ vs KK once, flopped set of A's to a suckout flush or straight or something that he bet so small on the river that i had to call just because i was priced, i got AK, AA, KK, QQ, and KQ like a million times but could never take a decent pot down, also had a baby turned flush trumped by a full house on the river but again, super small bets so i called him and sighed, and one bad call with a flopped baby boat to runner runner J's so he could call the flop with bottom pair and make a boat to take my stack. that was an aweful hand and it tilted me hard cause he said k thx and ran away. stupid donkey. there were more as well but i cant remember them. just so much horse crap.
then, as usual, chase my losses at deep 5NL and win the 2 BI back in like 100 hands. deep 2NL is just -ev it seems. yay for robusto for the day though. i figure i should stop playing poker and pretend to be doing work while at work. ;-) and im hungry. yay for 800 hand sessions at work though.
