It's also possible that Pokerstars themselves put in a replacement last minute, and the absence of a name change is just an error.

This is why she was evasive when people asked her how he could have played in the WSOP while he was in the hospital. The fact that she's not a close friend would also explain why she originally didn't know which hospital he was in -- she's relying on other people to relay the information to her. She's been getting secondhand information fed to her from someone who knows Kwazar, and has been updating the blog in order to keep the donations rolling in.
