[ QUOTE ] Congrats go to the Broncos. I don't think they played all that well, to be quite honest, but they were certainly heads and shoulders above my Patriots. I wish them luck in the next round. [/ QUOTE ] classy? if denver didn't play well...then where does that put the pats performance? denver played well against a good team. the game had bad plays and questionable calls, but it was a great game, fun to watch, and the better team prevailed. not much more to say than that. [/ QUOTE ] Oh boy. Are you trying to be an idiot and piss me off? OK, I'll give this explanation thing a shot. Where does that put the Patriots performance? About an F-. Seriously. They SUCKED. Denver played better than they did for sure. Hell, I'm pretty sure I said that in my original post. I'll BRB to check that. Yep. I did. But please tell me why you think Denver played "well." I hate being condescending to teams after they win a game. Normally I think it's sour grapes. But here are the facts. Denver wasn't moving the ball. Ever. They scored on a cheap pass interference call after a turnover, and then on 3 more turnovers. The Pats on the other hand, when they weren't handing the ball over to the Broncos every other possession, were moving the ball relatively well. I'm done arguing this because anyone who watched the game would see this. That being said. Who played better. The Broncos, of course. I'll give them credit for forcing 4 turnovers, although they really only forced 3, and even Brady's interception was mostly idiocy on his part. JUST TAKE THE [censored] 3 POINTS INSTEAD OF FORCING IT. Blah. I'm getting worked up when it's pointless to. Your team was the better team. I've been saying all year I think they are the second best team in the NFL, and I even picked them to win today. So if you still think I'm being a biased, whiny jerk, so be it. Good luck next week. |

Screw thanking god, I was blowing him when those "Wanna be" dynasties like the 90's cowboys and 80's 49'ers finally came to an end. And good thing the Patriots are losing their entire core, but I guess winning next year wouldn't count towards becoming a dynasty since you've gotta win consecutively (I hate that poser 70's Steelers dynasty). (For the record, this sarcasm is only in the defense of the Patriots, and not the Trojans.) |

Score should have been 45-17 with 5 effing turnovers. Pats got old (age) in a hurry during this game. Time to rebuild a bit..GG Broncos.

the pats just need to resign ty law and get a kick ass rb...imagine if they had a lamont jordan or larry johnson instead of friggin over the hill corey dillon.
the pats problem all year long as been no dominant run game. their d is ok..wr's could be a bit stronger. |

a 32 year old Dillon is not the answer for the Pats at RB.

Dillion looked like he was running uphill in the games I saw him in this season. Damn we need Reggie Bush too! I liked what I saw out of Kevin Faulk, but I think the Pats should look into a younger RB. Kinda hard to point the finger of blame in any one direction on this team, but I get the same feel I saw in the Raiders after their super bowl, they looked REAL old the next season for some reason, and Id like to avoid that in NE.

I've been saying all year I think they are the second best team in the NFL, and I even picked them to win today. So if you still think I'm being a biased, whiny jerk, so be it. Good luck next week. [/ QUOTE ] Your post sums up a lot of how I felt about the game. Every year Brady and or Belichick would drone on the week before a key play off game and say how the Pats needed to play their best game of the year to win. And in many cases like against Pittsburg and Indy last year it was true. But last night, they didn't need to play their best game of the year to win. All they needed to do was play a clean errorfree game and they would have won easily. If they don't turn the ball over I don't see how Denver scores a touchdown. The Patriots defense was immense but the offense and special teams through the turnovers gave the game away. This is not sour grapes. I'm actually happy with the season and am a realist and know that after 10 straight playoff wins you're due a stinker. Contrary to what some may believe or hope, I don't think this is the end of he Patriots reign. I see them coming back strong and motivated next year. In an odd way, this loss may be good for the team as it's virtually impossible to not become at least subconciously complacent after so much success. The only thing I regret is that the Winter just got a little longer. |
