looking forward to sosa tonight...let's hope he can regain that form he had a couple of years ago with the braves...

You mean pure luck?

He was pretty bad, even then.

[/ QUOTE ]

You mean in 2005, when he went 13-3 with a 2.55 era? I'll take that kind of bad.

So 13-3, 2.55 ERA and 122 hits in 134 IP is "pure luck"?

Apparently your stupidity is not limited to hockey.

[/ QUOTE ]

We didn't call him Houdini just for the hell of it. 64 walks in those 134 IP. I guess if you like baserunners and horrible control, you will love Sosa.

If that's not the biggest blip I've ever seen:

2004 - 84 ERA+
2005 - 166 ERA+
2006- 84 ERA+

But yet the FIP is nearly identical. Luck.

85% LOB, as opposed to 67 and 70 in the other two years. And his BABIP was .30 lower than usual too.

not saying he will regain that form, but if he can replicate those numbers, i'll be more than happy...zambrano has these kinds of tendencies, but u don't hear many complaints about him...just get the job done, that's the biggest thing...

And I assume the fact that, at New Orleans, he is 4-0 with a 1.13 ERA, in 32 IP he's given up 29 H and 4 BB ... that's "pure luck" too.

After the first inning I was hoping for some pure luck from Sosa...he seemed to calm down after that (just threw a lot of pitches) and gave a quality start. Lets Go Mets dun dun dun!

We'll see what the Mets really think of him when El Duque comes back. Will they stick with Pelfrey?

They will probably get to see both Pelfrey and Sosa throw another couple of games before making that decision. Competition is a good thing.

Lol at this lineup today. I like Willie's strategy of just punting the game with Pelfrey on the mound. Might as well rest Wright, Reyes, and Delgado too.
