This is crazy. I was under the impression that all winning poker players were geniuses with great fashion sense.

which i admit were somewhat harsh since i don't know him personally

it is often comical to see someone trying desperately to be someone or something they're not.

[/ QUOTE ]

You seem to be saying that although you don't know lilholdem, you do know that

A. he was not raised in an environment that produces people who dress/act in this manner.

B. He chooses to dress/act in this manner as a conscious, "desperate" choice.

You might have seen him up on the interwebs, but [censored] you dont know he.

[/ QUOTE ]

wow, wtf. i know he's not black, and that's pretty much the entirety of my "being something he's not" comment was based on. and are you saying he doesn't have a concious choice to dress like that? lol, what someone has a gun to his head making him do it? i really don't understand what you're getting at here.

[/ QUOTE ]

My bad (srsly) forgot to make the point that you dressing hood isnt a product of skin color, its usually product of environment. It's not a "black thing".

I think its about taking on black culture/posing/failing at it for purposes of hilarity to outsiders. For example would Eminem be considered a "wigger" probably not, even though he relates to black culture more than white culture. Its not acting like a "stupid [censored]", its just acting/appear stupid appropriating black culture or fashion.

[/ QUOTE ]

Very well said. (And i'm being srsrs now, not hyper-sarcastic) The problem is this analysis requires you to actually know the person and his behavior and his philosophical outlook, things which aren't a part of this discussion considering we don't know littleHE personally.

[/ QUOTE ]

Right we can only guess judging by his appearance, maybe he really is a gangster, has pimpoed out hoes/had to slap a bitch Wayne Brady style/would make Snoop Dogg/50 cross the street. Maybe he is a gangster, but his appearance is definitely the complete opposite of gangster. Maybe he's done a year or two in juvy. I dont know.

Although, because the only visible people who wear this stuff are rappers, it seems really ridiculous to people who aren't used to it (see: most of 2+2). However, stick lilholdem in a community like ones in the Detroit or Miami area, and he'd fit right in.

going out on a limb here (input from someone who is actually black, not that it matters in this context), but imabigdeal has been speaking pretty much truth throughout this thread no matter how annoying it may be.

listen chump change, others, i can't really describe how else i feel besides what i said in my last post. i just know that i don't think the word is racist, and i KNOW when i use it i'm not being racicst because that's not who i am. i'm probably like the most anti-racist person i know. the fact that racism still even exists, the fact that someone could actually think someone else was inferior because of the [censored] color of their skin absolutely sickens me. i live in texas, and i can't tell you how many people have confederate flags in their house and stuff and say how they wish slavery still was around. and MEAN it. it's ridiculous and absurd. sorry i'm going off a tangent, i just wanted to make sure you knew how i felt.

Well your last post did have a markedly different tone and approached a level of civil discourse. I'm not the one to tell another person about what he truly feels in his heart, but you have to understand that it's a term that's been used for hundreds of years (not 'wigger' but other derivations, like 'nigg*r lover' and many more) to insult and degrade both black people and the white people that had the audacity to accept and embrace black people.
