Today started poorly but ended well. The weekends are soooo much easier than the week days (especially during business hours) even at NL25. For a while every table I was at had a loose passive player; usually it's all (what I would think are) TAGs and LAGs.

So now I've played almost 19.5k hands at NL25 (started 27jan2007) and am up 11.4 big blinds / 100 hands (5.7 ptbb/100h).

And I'm rolled for NL50 now; I'm just not sure my game is up for it yet. I feel like I can be pushed off pots too easily; villains keep raising my cbets and donkbetting me and I'm throwing away my AK unimproved (but I also don't want to play it for stacks). The LAGs are really a nuisance; they show up with backdoor flushes and sets at the most inopportune moments.

Maybe I will take some careful shots at NL50 next weekend anyway.

Juu,

Sounds like you are doing great. It's frustrating when you don't hit with AK, but better to throw it away than to just dump more money into an ui hand. The LAG's drive me crazy too. They make learning to put someone on a hand really difficult, and I find myself playing way too scared to be really effective. Hopefully with some more hands and time we'll get it all figured out, but it definitely sounds like you are on your way. GL as you dip your toe into 50NL!!

Thanks, LC, best of luck to you too. I really appreciate the support from you all here.

Luckily at least some of the LAGs are not so smart and don't really shut down when you actually have a hand.

I'm sure that's probably true, but generally when I decide to take a stand I don't have a meaty enough hand to do it and I end up mucking. I find it to be a tenuous balance between pot control with, say TPTK, and keeping the suck-outs at bay. The tables with less aggressive players seems to fit my current noob status a bit better. All in good time I guess.
