[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Has anyone actually talked to him or had the hospital confirm he's there? [/ QUOTE ] That's a good question. Everyone just suddenly seemed to accept that he was in the hospital, though nobody seems to have called to find out for sure. It would be quite the bluff on the "gf's" part if she made up the hospital information in the hopes that nobody would check up on the story, though. [/ QUOTE ] You must have missed the post where Jeff A. in this thread explained that he called the hospital and the desk implicitly confirmed Kwazar's presence. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I just went back and saw it...somehow I missed it the first time and I've been following this story right from the start. |

[ QUOTE ]
I'd still like to know exactly why he is in there. Something just isn't right. He could be in the hospital for numerous reasons. [/ QUOTE ] He's getting an old drunken tattoo removed. It said, "I love 2+2!" inside a big heart. b |

[ QUOTE ] Yeah I kind of feel a little bad about my own comments too. But looking back on it this whole thing was fueled by the fact that his "girlfriend" was being extremely deceitful. It smelled like something was wrong from the start, what were we supposed to think? Plus, some sort of fraud with the WSOP probably happened. Ah well. It's over now. We have closure. P.S. Once again, nice avatar. [/ QUOTE ] Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! haha @ Germans bombing Pearl Harbor. Excellent. Anyway, here's my theory:
1) Kwazar didn't win a satellite into the WSOP, but bought in directly with his life savings, expecting to win it all with his poker prowess. 2) He didn't win it all with his poker prowess. 3) A "wreck" happened and now he's asking for donations to get his $10,000 back. |

[ QUOTE ]
Based on the new information, here's my theory: 1) Kwazar played in the tourney, busted out on day 2. 2) He got into an accident shortly thereafter 3) Some acquaintance of his started up the Kwaz fund, but this person doesn't know Kwazar as well as we've been assuming. Whether or not she started the fund in order to give the money to Kwazar or to keep it for herself remains to be seen. She didn't know the exact date that the accident occurred, didn't realize he was in the WSOP, and reported the date wrong by a couple of days. This is why she was evasive when people asked her how he could have played in the WSOP while he was in the hospital. The fact that she's not a close friend would also explain why she originally didn't know which hospital he was in -- she's relying on other people to relay the information to her. She's been getting secondhand information fed to her from someone who knows Kwazar, and has been updating the blog in order to keep the donations rolling in. She's either a do-gooder who has made Kwazar's accident her "cause" and will give him every penny that comes in, or she's an acquaintance who will give Kwazar some of the money but keep the rest (because it's her word as to how much $$$ comes in), or she's a complete sham and will keep every last penny and then it'll come out that Kwazar has no idea who she was. [/ QUOTE ] This is one one the more reasonable posts in this thread. Also, I met the player publicist for Pokerstars that represents the WSOP players (Raymer, Moneymaker, Ng, etc) when my buddy made the final table of event 22. I've sent an e-mail to her to see if she had any info on what happened to Kwazar in the WSOP, but no response as of yet. Still, it's more probable than not that Kwazar was in an accident out in Vegas. If that's the case, I'm sure that his first thoughts weren't "how can I defraud Pokerstars and the WSOP by transferring my non-transferrable seat." The tourney directors were on top of things in the event I played in, and so were the players. If someone tried to get Kwazar's chips, they would have had to have an ID with his name. At the end of the days of play, your chips are bagged in big ziplock bags with your name in it. They're not just passing out chips to everyone that walks in asking for them when play resumes. |

[ QUOTE ] Something is still not right here, regardless. Adam [/ QUOTE ] Exactly. If he's not scamming his friends and really had an accident, he scammed the WSOP. If he didn't play, shouldn't he return the money to the people who bought a piece of him? [/ QUOTE ] I don't know if anyone actually bought a piece of him, at least from myspace. He sent me a contract and I was going to send $500, but I decided instead to put the money in play when I was in Vegas. Based on our exchanges, I believe I was the only one that he sent a contract to. |
