Hanson turned over for quad tens and had Glenne drawing dead with 77 . Hanson doubled up to 950,000 on the hand while Glenne slipped to 1,000,000. [/ QUOTE ] I just read this--I didn't realize bart was still in this. what a series for bart. [/ QUOTE ] Two famous Hansons still left. Mmmmm...[bop]. [ QUOTE ] Varkonyi still hanging in (that's the KoD). [/ QUOTE ] I've been rooting for a Varkonyi victory for years. It would drive so many people nuts. [/ QUOTE ] I concur. Sadly, he's now out. |

[ QUOTE ] Varkonyi still hanging in (that's the KoD). [/ QUOTE ] I've been rooting for a Varkonyi victory for years. It would drive so many people nuts. [/ QUOTE ] I was right: KoD (Kiss of Death). Robert Varkonyi Eliminated Robert Varkonyi moved all in pre-flop with the {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and was called by Mickey Seagle with A-Q. The flop was {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts}, giving Seagle a straight. Varkonyi's only hope was a queen to split the pot. The turn was the {K-Clubs}, the river was the {5-Spades} and the 2002 WSOP Main Event champion was eliminated. This leaves us with three former WSOP champions left in the field-- Berry Johnston (1986), Huckleberry Seed (1996) and Scotty Nguyen (1998). |

Two famous Hansons still left. Mmmmm...[bop]. [/ QUOTE ] Oh god, now I can't get this horrible image out of my head of those two (ok, just Gus since I don't know anything about Bart) smiling at the FT and singing that song. |

[ QUOTE ]
With two limpers in the pot, Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi raised 42,000. Both players called. The flop was {J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Mizzi bet 92,000. Ed Betlow raised to 200,000. Mizzi moved all in for 450,000 more. Betlow called. Mizzi showed {K-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. Betlow flipped over {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Mizzi was ahead. The turn was the {A-Clubs} and Betlow took the lead. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Mizzi was eliminated. This hand makes me want to cry. If I was Mizzi, I'd be punching a hole in my hotel room wall right now. [/ QUOTE ] That is because you are too results oriented -- if dude flips over AJ or 33, Mizzi would be punching himself in the face. And it's scary how few on this board recognize that there is little difference between calling with an A7 or with an AJ in this situation (it just happens that that little difference came into play this hand). |
